Four Oaks Care Home and Timperley Nursing Home, part of Kingsley Healthcare, were honoured to sponsor the recent Altrincham Football Club match at the J Davidson Stadium on Saturday ⚽️🏟️

Our Operations Director, Pauline Parker-Moore, had the privilege of presenting Altrincham FC player Kahrel Reddin with his Player of the Match award following another excellent performance.
As part of our sponsorship, we enjoyed a special match-day event, when Altrincham FC played Brackley Town Football Club - who are another team proudly sponsored by our sister home Brackley Care Home. It was a wonderful afternoon of friendly rivalry and community spirit πŸ†β€οΈ

We were delighted to take two of our residents, Bill Brodie and Robert Smith - who are both keen football fans. Bill fondly recalled the days he spent at the stadium in his youth, when he played football himself. He remembered
receiving his very first football medal there in 1957, back when Freddie Pye was manager.

β€œIt was wonderful to watch a match and visit the stadium again after all these years,” Bill said. β€œI can’t believe how much has changed.”

We are also thrilled to have received a team-signed Altrincham FC football, which has brought great excitement to our residents.
It was an exceptional day filled with pride, enjoyment, and shared passion - made even better with Altrincham FC securing a 2–1 victory πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ€©

We look forward to continuing our support for both teams within the Kingsley Healthcare family πŸ’œ

πŸ’› Wear Yellow for Children in Need! πŸ’›

Today our amazing staff brightened up the day by coming to work dressed in yellow to support BBC Children in Need!

We were also thrilled to welcome Danny Murphy, who joined us for a fun-filled afternoon of singing and dancing! πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

A special thank you to our wonderful Care Coordinator Queen, who dressed up as Pudsey for the entire day to put a smile on our residents’ facesπŸ»πŸ’›

Beryl summed it up perfectly:
β€œWhat a great afternoon β€” it was lovely to see people up dancing and getting involved.”

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day so special! βœ¨πŸ’œ

Cheers to mouth watering cheese, fine wine and good company! πŸ§€πŸ·

Our residents made the most of International Merlot Day by sampling a variety of delicious cheeses, along with a sweet chutney relish, grapes and crackers along with a lovely glass of Merlot 🀩πŸ₯‚

There was a lot of debate over which flavour combination was best, it was very hard to decide on a winner! πŸ’œ

For Remembrance Sunday, we spent the morning creating a poppy wreath πŸ–οΈπŸŽ¨

Beryl watched the televised ceremony, stating she and her husband never used to miss it, so she watches it for him ❀️

In the afternoon we were joined by Reverend Jane, from St Mary's Church, Partington and Carrington, who had prepared a lovely Remembrance Sunday service for us πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ˜Š

We had also created a display in our reception area, for those whom wanted to take a moment to reflect and remember ❀️

Earlier this week, Ann and her friend took a stroll down to our local Tree of Hope area, where they added our poppy decorations to the railings and grass on behalf of everyone at Four Oaks ❀️

Each year, local businesses, schools, and community groups create poppies for the display, which remains in place from the week before Remembrance Sunday until the week after. It’s lovely to see the community come together to create such a beautiful display, honouring and remembering all those who served for us in the war πŸ’œ

As the festive season approaches, a few of our ladies decided to get together for an arts and crafts morning - creating little Christmas tree angel toppers πŸ‘ΌπŸΌπŸŽ„

Tapping into their creativity, our residents find joy in hands-on crafting projects, which are great for their fine motor skills as well as giving our ladies the chance to engage with friends old and new, reminiscing over Christmases past πŸ€ΆπŸΌβοΈπŸ’œ

Remember, remember the 5th of November!

Instead of watching a traditional firework display we organised a fireworks-inspired arts and crafts session in our sun room - as you can see a few of our ladies added sparkle and colour to their masterpieces πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡

Gill reminisced about watching organised bonfires in St Anne’s as a child, and Beryl was chatting excitedly about making treacle toffee and traditional parkin cake for her grandchildren πŸ₯°πŸ’œ
