As nice as pie! 🥧✨

This week is , to celebrate we hosted a pie tasting session, to see if our ladies and gents could guess the flavour. Various pies were on offer- with a selection of both sweet and savoury, including mouthwatering pork pies to delicious apple pie🍎

Kay confessed that she thought all of the pies were ‘tasty’ with her favourite being the cheese and onion pie. And had more of a sweet tooth so the traditional and toffee Bakewell’s were her favourites 😍

A little treat for our amazing team! 🤩

Yesterday was , and to celebrate we invited our wonderful staff to take a well-deserved break and enjoy a buffet, delicious pizzas from Domino’s, refreshing drinks, and plenty of snacks 🍕

Each member of staff also received a small goodie bag filled with treats — just a small way of showing how much they mean to us and how grateful we are for everything they do.

A huge thank you to every single one of our team. From housekeeping and kitchen staff, to our nurses and care team, activities, admin, hospitality, management and maintenance — every person plays an important role in keeping the home running smoothly and ensuring our residents are safe, happy and well cared for every single day 🥰

World Book Day with our little friends at Gillitots! 📚

To celebrate , we were delighted to welcome our little friends from Gillitots Nursery. The children spent the morning enjoying colouring, crafts, and sharing their favourite books with us. As part of their pyjama day, the children and staff all arrived in their pyjamas, each bringing along a much-loved book to read.

The room was beautifully decorated with hand painted colourful book illustrations and a vibrant, book-themed spread. From Gruffalo paws to a Very Hungry Caterpillar fruit platter, there were plenty of delicious treats for everyone to enjoy 🐛🍓

At the end of the session, Ann handed out bookmarks and sweetie “bookworms” as a small thank you for joining our celebration

Beryl was thrilled by the visit and said, “What an amazing morning. The children are so lovely and really well behaved — they truly put a smile on my face.” 🥹🥰

A big thank you to the staff and children for spending the morning with us and helping make our World Book Day celebration so special💜

As part of , we got creative by making our own peanut and seed fat balls for the garden birds to enjoy 🐦

With food still fairly scarce for our feathered friends, they used a mixture of sliced apple, peanuts, and bird seed to create the little treats - ready to put into the feeders 🍎🥜

There was plenty of mixing, laughter and very messy hands along the way! Although things got a little sticky, the smiles said it all - and the results were definitely worth it 🤩

We can’t wait to watch the birds enjoy their homemade snacks in our garden!💜

What better way to spend a morning than wrapping up warm and taking a gentle stroll to the coffee shop?

That’s exactly how Beryl and Marion spent their Sunday. With the sun peeking through at last, we decided it was the perfect excuse for a walk to our local coffee shop, The Coffee House, to warm up with a delicious hot chocolate 🌞☕️

To Beryl’s surprise, her family joined us there, to enjoy a hot drink with her. She was overjoyed and loved every moment of being together, sharing smiles and sweet treats in the cosy comfort of the coffee shop 🥰💜

As part of (meaning ‘seize the day) our residents got stuck into creating a gratitude and manifestation scrapbook, filled with key words and images that were important to them 🥰

Working together, everyone pitched in with things they are grateful for - which included friends and family, pets and nature, love and romance, great food and drink, visits from St Mary's Church, Partington and Carrington
and also activities such as baking, exercises, arts and crafts and visits to our favourite - The Northern Light Cinema Sale 🤩🍿

Margaret commented that they are all very lucky to have family and friends who love them and Ann was happy with all the new friends she had made here, since moving into Four Oaks 💜

We love nothing more than taking some time out of our day to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake. But we don’t just love to have our cake and eat it - we like to bake it too! 👩🏼‍🍳🍰

One of our favourites is lemon drizzle and our ladies enjoyed a lovely chat whilst mixing, stirring and grating the ingredients together 🥣

Marjorie loves baking scones and fondly remembers making cakes for family and friends. She even made a number of wedding cakes in her younger years. Whilst Ann recalled making a Christmas pudding in a school domestic science class, which included putting a shilling into the mixture 😋

We’re off to see the Wizard… ✨

The Northern Light Cinema Sale

Angela and Lizzy were delighted to settle into the cosy sofas to watch The Wizard of Oz. For Angela, it was a nostalgic journey, reminiscing about watching the film with her children years ago. For Lizzy, it was pure magic — her very first time ever seeing the classic 🧙🏻🪄

With the cinema celebrating its first birthday this month, Angela and Lizzy wanted to mark the occasion. They brought along a few small gifts and a card for Annie and the team — to wish them a very happy anniversary and to say a heartfelt thank you for their dementia friendly screenings 💜

It’s all about the 60’s! 🕺🪩

Ann and Lizzy had great fun revamping some plain cotton garments whilst embracing the Flower Power theme.

Using water, elastic bands, colourful dyes and a lot of imagination, they were amazed that the tie-dye technique actually dates back to 6th century China and Japan, as well as ancient India and has been used globally for centuries to create patterns through binding, folding or stitching fabrics before dyeing them🤩🫟

We had the most wonderful time with our friendly Olympics challenges alongside our sister home Timperley Nursing Home💜

Our lovely residents took part in every challenge with joy and determination - and honestly, they ALL deserve gold medals for their spirit and enthusiasm! 🏅

It’s been a fantastic time — and with the 2026 Winter Olympics finishing on 22nd February 👏, we’ve been feeling that Olympic spirit right here in our own community too. What a lovely way to celebrate friendship, fun and teamwork! 🌟
