A stroke happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off, killing brain cells.
Stroke can be life-changing. It can happen to anyone of any age and affects everyone in different ways.

This Stroke Prevention Day 2026 (29 January 2026), we're encouraging you to keep an eye on your blood pressure. That's because high blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for stroke.

If you have a high reading, you can help lower it by making some simple lifestyle changes.

Cervical Cancer Prevention Week 2026, which runs from 19th to 25th January 2026, is a significant initiative aimed at raising awareness about cervical cancer and its prevention. The week is dedicated to educating people about cervical cancer, its prevention, and the importance of regular screening. The campaign encourages women and people with a cervix aged 25–64 to book their cervical screening during the week.

The NHS has pledged to eliminate cervical cancer by 2040, saving thousands of lives every year. The week also emphasises the importance of the HPV vaccination programme and the role of cervical screening in preventing cervical cancer.

Delta Care Ltd is one of the Preston's largest and most successful domiciliary care services offering a range of services to meet individual care needs. We can help with all care needs from care in an individual’s own home to residential care (Victoria House is a homely 15 bedded care home supporting people to live as independently as possible), 24 hour care and even day care at our award winning centre, Charlotte House, which offers day support to individuals who live in the Preston and surrounding areas. We offer full support to complete individual support plans. Transport is provided and regular day trips to local places of interest take place on a daily basis .

Delta Care was established in 1991 by Dr. & Mrs. Baki and continues to operate as a family business. Dr. & Mrs. Baki previously worked in the National Health Service and transferred all their knowledge and experience gained to the running of Delta Care.
