For many of our families living in communities across Tameside, this Christmas will be tougher than ever.
The pressure to choose between 'heating or eating' is a heartbreaking reality, and for some, the thought of gifts under the tree feels completely out of reach.

If your family would like to receive support from this year's Tameside Toy Appeal please get in touch with your Local Referral Agency, such as, schools, doctors, housing associations, children's centres, social prescribing team, social worker and local community groups like OKE 😊🎅🏼 who will complete a Nomination Form on your behalf and send to the nearest Children's Centre.

Tameside Autism Network’s next support session on 20 November from 5:30pm - 7:30pm 💙

This is a community led accessible space for autistic adults, family or friends to meet, share a brew and exchange ideas.

FREE Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Training - Nov / Dec

This training is suitable for anyone working directly with children, young people, and families who want to gain a better understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) from across a variety of settings; early years, education, primary care, adoption and fostering services. Delivered by the UK Leading Expert and Specialist Trainer Joanna Buckard.

This opportunity would also benefit those working with Adults who may not have been aware that they were exposed to alcohol during their mother's pregnancy. FASD can lead to a range of physical, cognitive, and behavioural challenges, often going undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, as its symptoms overlap with conditions like ADHD or autism. This misdiagnosis can delay essential support, leaving many parents/people feeling isolated and unsure of where to turn.

It will help you understand how FASD presents across someone's life, so that you can signpost them to access further support to live well.

On the Saturday it is our annual Christmas Fayre which gets rather busy, but on the Sunday we will open the grotto again making it much quieter and suitable for SEN families.
