🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18–24 November 2025

A reminder for this important week: not every cough needs antibiotics.
Most coughs are caused by viral infections, which antibiotics cannot treat. They usually get better on their own with rest, fluids, and time.

Taking antibiotics when they’re not needed won’t speed up recovery — but it can contribute to antimicrobial resistance, making antibiotics less effective for everyone.

đź’™ Use antibiotics wisely to help keep them working for the future.

🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18–24 November 2025

This week we’re reminding everyone about the importance of using antibiotics safely and responsibly.

đź’Š Only take antibiotics as directed by your GP, Nurse, or Pharmacist.
They will advise you on the right medicine, the correct dose, and how long you need to take it for. Taking antibiotics without proper guidance can be harmful and contributes to antimicrobial resistance.

💙 Let’s protect antibiotics so they continue to work when we really need them.

🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18–24 November 2025

Did you know? ❄️🤧 Antibiotics do not work for colds or flu.
These illnesses are caused by viruses, and antibiotics only treat bacterial infections.

Using antibiotics when they aren’t needed won’t help you recover faster — but it can contribute to antimicrobial resistance, making antibiotics less effective when they’re truly needed.

💙 Let’s keep antibiotics working for everyone. Use them wisely.

🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18–24 November 2025

This week we’re reminding everyone how important it is to use antibiotics correctly to help keep them effective for the future.

💊 If you’re prescribed antibiotics, make sure you:
• Take them exactly as instructed
• Take them at the right time
• Finish the full course — even if you start feeling better

Using antibiotics incorrectly can lead to infections not being fully treated and contributes to antimicrobial resistance, making these vital medicines less effective for everyone.

💙 Let’s work together to keep antibiotics working.

🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18–24 November 2025

This week we’re highlighting how we can all help protect antibiotics for the future.

💊 If you’re prescribed antibiotics, always make sure you finish the full course — even if you start to feel better. Stopping early means the infection may not be fully treated, and it can contribute to antimicrobial resistance.

❌ Don’t save leftover antibiotics for later or share them with anyone else. Different infections need different treatments, and taking the wrong antibiotic at the wrong time won’t work and can do more harm than good.

💙 Use antibiotics wisely. Together, we can keep them effective for when they’re truly needed.

🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18–24 November 2025

This week we’re raising awareness about the importance of using antibiotics responsibly. ❗

🤧 Colds, flu, and most sore throats are caused by viruses — and antibiotics do not work against viral infections. Taking them when you don’t need them won’t make you feel better, but it can contribute to antimicrobial resistance, making antibiotics less effective when they’re truly needed.

💙 Let’s protect antibiotics for the future.
If you’re unwell with cold or flu symptoms, rest, stay hydrated, and seek advice from NHS 111 or your healthcare professional if you’re unsure.

🌍 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
📅 18th – 24th November 2025

It’s World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, a global campaign to raise awareness about the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Antibiotics and other antimicrobials are vital tools that save millions of lives—but misuse and overuse mean they’re becoming less effective.

đź’ˇ This week is a reminder for all of us to use antibiotics responsibly, follow medical advice, and help protect these essential medicines for the future.

🔵 Stay informed. Stay safe. Use antibiotics wisely.
