🌿 Discover Green & Quiet Spaces in Our Community 🌿

We are delighted to share the community map “Green and Quiet Spaces in Withington, Old Moat and Ladybarn” 💚

This map has been created to inspire local people to:
🍃 Move more
🍃 Access green spaces more easily
🍃 Connect with nature
🍃 Enjoy pocket gardens, mini orchards, parks and community gardens

Its message is simple but powerful: take time for yourself and recharge as you explore the urban oases, tranquil spaces and hidden gems right here in our neighbourhood.

This initiative is supported by evidence from Public Health England, which highlights that living in a greener environment can promote and protect good health, support recovery from illness, and help manage poor health (Improving access to greenspace, 2020).

❄️ Free Winter Falls Lifting Response Service ❄️

The Greater Manchester Urgent Primary Care Alliance (GM UPCA) has launched a FREE Winter Falls Lifting Response Service until the end of March 2026.

This service is for people who have fallen but are not seriously injured and need safe assistance to get back up. It will operate daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

The aim of the service is to:
✅ Reduce North West Ambulance Service call-outs
✅ Prevent unnecessary hospital visits
✅ Reduce the time people spend on the floor after a fall

This service helps people receive the right support, at the right time, closer to home. Please share this post so those who may need it this winter are aware 💙
