My Journey to Physiotherapy & the Olympics
At 5 years old, I started training in Taekwondo and instantly fell in love with the sport. By the age of 9, I was competing internationally, traveling the world, and fully immersed in my dream of one day becoming an Olympian.
Growing up, I had two major goals—competing at the Olympics and becoming a doctor. At 16, I was faced with a tough decision when I was invited to join the Olympic squad and move to Manchester. I chose to put my medical aspirations on hold and commit fully to my Olympic journey.
However, sport comes with challenges, and throughout my career, I’ve faced my fair share—ACL reconstruction, ATFL reconstruction, and hip surgery. During my rehab, I worked with incredible physiotherapists who not only helped me recover but inspired me to pursue a new passion. I realized I could combine my love for sport with my interest in medicine through physiotherapy, helping athletes like myself return to peak performance after injury.
At 21, after being a reserve for Tokyo, I began my BSc Physiotherapy degree at Salford University. Over the past four years, I’ve worked hard to balance my studies with my athletic career, and in 2024, I finally achieved my lifelong dream—competing at the Paris Olympic Games.
Now, 24, as I prepare to graduate in July, I’ve also launched my own sports massage business, and I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead. Looking forward to seeing how this next year unfolds and how we can grow this together! ⭐️✨
