A productive and inspiring weekend in beautiful Nice setting the European Hand Exam (EBHS) questions, followed by FESSH Executive and Council meetings.

Together we reviewed strategy and operations for 2025–26, aligning on our shared vision to strengthen education, collaboration, and excellence across Europe.

It’s always motivating to be surrounded by colleagues who care deeply about raising standards and shaping the next generation of hand surgeons.

Grateful for the teamwork, energy, and friendship that make FESSH such a unique community.

A great day of learning and team development at the Arthrex UK Cad lab for our NCA Hand Unit Away Day.

We covered advanced training in scapholunate ligament reconstruction, CMCJ suspensionplasty, thumb UCL repair, wrist and small joint arthroscopy, TFCC repair and nanoscope-assisted carpal tunnel release.

Excellent engagement from the whole team, combining education, innovation and team spirit.

has just published an important report: The Impact of Pre-Packed Implants in Hand & Wrist Trauma.

This document examines the evidence around individually sterile-packed implants (PPIs) a topic with significant implications for patient outcomes, surgical safety, NHS resources, and environmental sustainability.

I want to congratulate and thank my colleagues who authored this report. Their work represents a thorough, evidence-based analysis of risks, benefits, and practical realities, and provides clarity in a field that urgently needs it.
For those of us in daily practice, the conclusions remind us of the need to balance regulation and innovation with surgical efficiency and patient-centred care.
