You may see scaffolding around our building over the coming weeks while improvement works take place. We want to reassure all patients that the clinic is open as normal and appointments are continuing as scheduled.

The entrance and access to the clinic remain available, some of the car park is out of action, however there are some spaces free for those who require them. If you need any assistance when arriving, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Today is Stroke Prevention Day - a moment to shine a spotlight on one of the most impactful ways we can protect brain health and reduce the risk of stroke.

According to the , high blood pressure (hypertension) is the biggest single risk factor for stroke, contributing to around half of all cases — yet many people don’t know they have it.

What can we do today?

✔️ Check your blood pressure regularly - simple and potentially life-saving

✔️ Talk to your GP or healthcare professional about your risk

✔️ Adopt healthier habits - exercise, balanced diet, smoking cessation, and safe alcohol use all help lower risk

Stroke doesn’t just affect individuals - it touches families and communities too. Prevention starts with knowing your numbers and taking small steps for big health gains.

At Neurological Physiotherapy, we support people recovering from stroke and promote risk reduction

Have you checked your Blood Pressure recently?

Take a moment today to check in on your health or encourage someone you care about to do the same.

Announcement: From Monday 2nd February essential work will be taking place on our building for approximately six weeks. During this time, the majority of our car park will be unavailable. To help us support those who rely on wheelchair access or have significant mobility needs, we kindly ask that anyone who is able to do so consider parking in the nearby public car park and walking to the clinic. This will ensure that the few remaining on‑site spaces can be reserved for those who need them most. Please allow extra time for your journey, as parking and access may take a little longer than usual.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. These works are essential to maintain and improve the building, and we are grateful for your cooperation during this period

Great progress from one of our patients during yesterday’s session.
Following a brain injury, her primary ongoing symptom is ataxia, which affects coordination and balance. Her program focuses on targeted strength and stability training to improve motor control and functional movement. It’s encouraging to see her continued commitment and progress throughout this process.

What is ataxia?
Ataxia is a neurological condition that affects coordination, balance, and control of movement. It occurs when areas of the brain responsible for motor control are damaged, such as after a brain injury. This can make everyday movements feel unsteady or less precise, even when muscle strength is present. Targeted strength and stability training can help improve control, confidence, and functional movement over time.

A great exercise from Katie.
Parkinson’s causes muscle rigidity, especially in the shoulders, arms, and upper back. Stretching with a resistant band can help with tight muscles, reduce stiffness in the shoulders and chest, and makes daily movements (reaching, dressing) easier.

Great work Roy! We have been trying out The SaeboMAS , it is a supported device to enable upper limb function allowing you to perform functional exercises!
