What to expect:
Surrounded by a carefully curated still life reflecting elements of Japanese culture

Step into a space of quiet intention and creative flow. Where Water Meets Ink: A Zen Art Retreat invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the mindful beauty of Japanese-inspired art.

What to expect:
Surrounded by a carefully curated still life reflecting elements of Japanese culture - natural textures, seasonal forms, delicate ceramics, branches, paper, and light - you will begin with simple observation.

Through guided exercises rooted in both traditional and contemporary techniques, you'll learn to see before you paint, to notice before you define, and to allow stillness to shape your work.

We will gently introduce ink and watercolour into your process, exploring the expressive balance between control and surrender. From the grounding presence of ink line to the fluid
transparency of water, each layer unfolds gradually, encouraging intuition and personal rhythm. You'll discover how traditional approaches can harmonise with modern expression, allowing your work to evolve naturally from observation into interpretation.

As the retreat progresses, your initial studies will transform into a deeply personal piece-an artistic reflection of your own journey through stillness, flow, and mindful creativity.

Coming up on March we have a new venue Sandy Lane Tea Room 🫖☕️🍰just outside Macclesfield, where I will be running monthly mid-week 🎨 ✍️ art retreats 🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏼‍♂️

Here you will have a chance to take a pitstop before the weekend where you can truly switch of from the day-to-day and treat your mind, body and soul to a creative release.

During the session we will focus on observation of stunning 🪻🌷Spring blooms 🌺 🌼 as you are guided through a carefully curated series of exercises that allow you to express your interpretations through a mixture of mediums.

Another wonderful
Saturday art retreat held at PINK in with the most fabulous mix of individuals, who all came along to learn the art of printmaking and have a play with a variety of different printing techniques.
We were all enjoying the class and being in the moment so much so - that before I knew it the class was over and my wonderful printmakers had graced me with their super talents and beautiful work - then they were gone.
So, unfortunately I hadn't documented the amazing work they created, but it shows how much we all got stuck in and were enjoying being printmakers for the morning.
I hope you all found the best technique for you and I look forward to seeing you produce your own pieces again soon!

We have a few places remaining at our printmaking class next Saturday (28 Feb) PINK Manchester (Stockport) Where you will be guided along the way to develop your own artwork that will then be recreated into a print triptych through the use of mono, relief and intaglio collagraphy printing methods. #

We are also taking our holistic art sessions to a NEW venue Sandy Lane Tea Room (Macclesfield) with a monthly Thursday morning class (starting on the 19 March) Our first session brings the beautiful botanical to life in our classic mindful still life class.

We are delighted to let everyone know that we will also be hosting our Sketch Events & Socials in the leafy lanes of Cheshire (just outside Macclesfield) at the wonderful Sandy Lane Tea Room with our first Art retreat focusing on beautiful botanicals using a selection of holistic art practices.

All abilities welcome to this enriching art practice where we explore a carefully curated botanical still life and learn to be in the moment, while easing into a relaxed flow through a mix of drawing / observational exercises.
