Mistley Manor is a private, family run care home situated in Mistley on the outskirts of the picturesque town of Manningtree. It has excellent access routes, only eight miles from Colchester, the oldest recorded Roman town in Britain and four miles from the beautiful village of Dedham, in the heart of Constable Country. We aim to provide luxury, affordable, residential care for individuals or couples, along with specialist dementia care, respite and of course our fabulous retreat packages. Our Mission is ‘to provide a Home from Home’ and we strive to provide this to achieve what we see as our highest accolade. Here at Mistley Manor we aim to ensure that all residents at the Manor enjoy the highest possible quality of life by having their own bespoke Care Packages and all this is offered within luxurious accommodation in a tranquil setting. We are proud to have based our entire design concept on the acclaimed pioneering studies of Stirling University, which is internationally acclaimed for its dementia research and innovation. Mistley Manor is delighted to bring you our new Senior Day Club!

Join us in our beautiful facilities, enjoy a range of engaging activities, and savor a delicious two-course meal, all while receiving full care from our fully trained staff.

The Day Club runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To celebrate our launch, the first three bookings can enjoy a special promotional rate of £100 a day.

On Sunday we welcomed back the lovely Lily from Tipple and Paint!

We had a fantastic afternoon recreating an image from when the Northern Lights could be seen over Mistley. Lily carefully talked us through our paintings step by step whilst we all enjoyed a little tipple. We can't wait to see you again next year Lily -Thank you!

Yesterday we had the great pleasure of welcoming Stour Culture to Mistley Manor! They are a new arts organisation based in Manningtree and they support culture and live entertainment on the Essex Suffolk border.

They have recently commissioned artist Tom Armstrong to create a flag which draws together different aspects of local art, culture and heritage and as part of this, he threw a wonderful workshop for us! The images we created will be photographed and added to a bank of images to inspire the final flag design.

We had a fantastic time, thank you so much!

We celebrated fireworks night in style this year! Repurposing our Halloween pumpkins, our residents spent the afternoon creating their own Guy Fawkes.

We then held a beautiful, low noise firework display with warming mulled wine and delicious sausage rolls. We had a great turn out from family, friends and staff - thank you all for coming!

Nothing beats a Bargain! Our residents shopped to their hearts content yesterday checking out the deals in our local Home Bargains 🛍️ We loaded up on yummy treats (fudge was a firm favourite!) and got ourselves organised with some early Christmas shopping!

This morning has been filled with yummy chocolate treats as we made homemade chocolate apple slices, expertly assisted by Pelham, one of our wonderful waiting team! Thank you to all as always 🦢

Farewell to Our Wonderful Ruth!

Late last week, we said goodbye to our wonderful Ruth, who is leaving to enjoy her well-earned retirement.

Ruth has been with us since the very first day we opened and has been an integral part of the Stour Valley Care Group family ever since. We are so grateful for her dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the company.

She will be truly missed by us all, and we are wishing her every happiness in this exciting new chapter! 🦢

To all who celebrate, we wish you a Halloween filled with plenty of treats and no tricks! We’re fully in the spooky spirit here; our residents and staff have decorated the home beautifully.

Yesterday, we enjoyed a fun-filled pumpkin painting and carving session, and Derek, one of our talented chefs, even gave us a special pumpkin carving lesson! 👻
