Good morning, everyone! 👋 It’s been a little while since I last shared an earwax removal video, but I’ve got a particularly juicy one for you today! 👀

This patient came in with a completely blocked ear, and as I carefully removed the wax plug, I uncovered something unexpected—a hidden infection beneath a layer of crusty dead skin. This just goes to show that earwax blockages can do more than just muffle your hearing—they can also trap infections!

I hear this question often, and my response is filled with optimism! While there isn’t a one-size-fits-all cure, there are many ways to manage tinnitus effectively. Sadly, many people are told to just ‘live with it’ due to gaps in healthcare professionals' training and awareness.

Did you know the average length of a human ear canal is 2.5cm? The inner third of the canal is known as the bony portion- it is particularly sensitive due to the lack of ‘cushioning’.

So you can imagine how much discomfort this patient was in. These hard, compressed wax pellets filled the whole of the ear canal!
