Move More Monday on the Willows unit this week was chair exercises followed by a rugby competition of who could get the ball over the highest set goal post.

Exercising promotes gross motor skills, strength and balance helping to prevent falls and to help our residents to remain mobile.

Today a few of our residents on the Meadows enjoyed a trip to our local coffee shop for coffee & cake ☕️ 🍰 We got wrapped up, and it was lovely to get out into the fresh air
This afternoon we’ve enjoyed a sensory afternoon on the Meadows, exploring our rummage boxes, some doll therapy , and we made a start on some Valentines paintings for later in the month.
Some residents also enjoyed some 1:1 time in their bedrooms 🥰

One of our lovely ladies has spent many years in a Voluntary role helping people , and still loves to help …. So this morning we paid a visit to our laundry ladies and helped them put the laundry away . This kind of activity gives our residents a sense of purpose & meaning , makes them feel part of our little community , and gets their daily excercise in too 🤩

After all of the Move More this morning we relaxed with some of our residents choosing to play table top games and others watching a wild life documentary which they were engrossed with.

We all happily discussed the animals, their favourite animals, their experiences of visiting zoos and one lady telling us about how she rode on a camel.
