It was such an amazing morning. Seeing people come together to talk, listen, laugh and cry reminds me exactly why the Bereavement Café is so important. Thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who supports us. ❤️

Well, December's Bereavement Cafe was one of the busiest cafes we have had since we started.

The chatter in the Flower Hall at Mansfield Crematorium was astonishing.

Why?

People shared stories. People listened. People talked. People laughed. People cried.

Some attended for the first time. Some returned after a break. Some have been to almost every cafe we have held.

It's a safe space to be with people who know what you're going through.

It is safe to say, the Bereavement Cafe is so needed, and we are all so proud to play such a small part in helping people.

Thanks once again to Amy at PoFfles (mince pies and sausage rolls today - they went quickly but we're told they were amazing!).

Thanks to the Mansfield Crematorium staff for setting up and allowing us to have the cafe there.

Thanks also to Steve at Flare Print Studio for printing the business cards we use for the cafe.

The next cafe will be on January 5th, between 10am and 12noon.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

We didn't get chance to take a picture of the mince pies but here's a picture of an empty black plate similar to the empty one we were left with.

Can anyone help the lovely team at W.S.Ingham & Son Ltdd support The Beacon Project? They are urgently in need of donations such as sleeping bags, tents, men’s coats, shoes, and other essentials. Anything you can give will be gratefully received, helping to support the homeless community in Mansfield. Thank you 💛

Here at W.S Ingham & Son Ltd we like to support those in need at Christmas time.

This year we are helping The Beacon Project once again, they support Mansfield's homeless and venerably housed adult community. They offer them a safe space to get a hot meal, clean clothes and access to shower facilities.

We are asking you, the community to help us help those less fortunate this Christmas.
We need things such as:
- Sachets of Coffee, Teabags and UHT Milk
- Tinned food (Rice Pudding, Fruit, Beans, Spaghetti and Vegetables)
- Packets of Soup and Instant Noodles
- Cereal
- Shower Gel, Deodorant, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Mouthwash and Lip Balm
- Men's Shoes (Can be worn, but in good condition)
- Men's Coats (Can be worn, but in good condition)
- Second hand tents & Sleeping bags

We would also be grateful for donations of Biscuits, Cans of Pop and Bars of Chocolate as a treat for those using The Beacon Project services this Christmas.

Do you know of any businesses that would like to make someone's Christmas a little brighter this year? We would love to hear from them! Please share and tag friends and family so we can spread or campaign far and wide this year!

We all know the saying about the only two certainties in life… but how often do we really talk about one of them? It seems to be a taboo subject for many people.

I worked at King’s Mill Hospital for over 12 years, and was never once asked why I worked there.

Since becoming a celebrant, I’ve often been asked; “I get weddings, but why funerals?”

My answer, I believe that looking after people who are unwell, and supporting families after someone has passed away are not so different. Both are about compassion, understanding, and helping others through emotional times, and both are incredibly rewarding. 💞

For me, it’s got to be perfect. 🌷

Have a lovely weekend. 💫

A Different Kind of Christmas….
My family and I have come to a decision that we are not going to do Christmas in our usual way this year.

We are lucky to love each other very much, and because of that we always want to spoil each other rotten. But let’s be honest… with that comes the stress of finding the “perfect” gifts, the social pressure to spend more, and the annual supermarket shop that could feed a small continent.

So this year, we are doing it differently…
One small gift each, and the rest, we are giving the gift of time.

No more filling the fridge like we are prepping for an apocalypse.

No more clearing the shelves and boosting supermarket profits while the shareholders celebrate harder than we do.

We will eat well, of course we will.
We will still indulge, still enjoy, still celebrate… just for one day.

That way, we avoid the post Christmas heart attack and the January panic sign up to Weight Watchers.

We have some lovely, silly, fun ideas up our sleeves and honestly, it feels good.

Less stuff, more memories.
Less stress, more laughter.
Less wrapping paper, more moments worth keeping.

Christmas is still on, just on our own terms this time 🥰🎁🎄

Sending love always 💕

🌟 Annual Christmas Memorial Service – 2025 🌟

Mansfield Crematorium warmly invites families to join us for our Annual Christmas Memorial Service on Saturday 13th December 2025 at 2:00pm in the Thoresby Chapel.

This special service of remembrance will be led by Celebrant Drew Baxter, with performances from the Mansfield and District Male Voice Choir and Blidworth Welfare Band. Together, we’ll take a moment to reflect, remember, and celebrate the lives of our loved ones at this meaningful time of year. 💛

📸 During the service, photos of loved ones will be shown as a tribute. If you would like a photo to be included, please send this to crematorium@mansfield.gov.uk before 5pm on Tuesday 9th December 2025.

Please note, images received after this date may not be shown.

For those who are unable to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed via the link below:
