✨ A Little Reminder: You Don’t Have to Make Your Resolutions in January ✨

January gets all the pressure — new goals, new habits, new routines. But let’s be honest… it’s often the month we’re still recovering from December, finding our feet again, and trying to remember what day it is.

That’s why February and March can actually be better months to set intentions or make resolutions. And any goals we set come from a place of calm rather than pressure.

So if January rushed past and you didn’t set any resolutions, you haven’t missed a thing. In fact, you might be right on time.

And if you’d like some support in creating goals that feel realistic, meaningful, and truly yours, I’m here.

✨ Being Swept Along by Christmas ✨

It’s so easy to get carried away at this time of year…
Suddenly the trolley is piled high with chocolate, fizz, “just in case” treats, and enough snacks to feed a small village.

Every social invitation feels like a must, every spare evening gets filled, and before we know it — December becomes a blur of doing, buying, planning, and pleasing.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

This year, I’m choosing to hold the middle line. And I certainly will be doing exactly that this December — slowing down, choosing gently, and remembering that Christmas doesn’t have to sweep us away.

“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.”

Making that first decision to move forward can feel empowering… but it can also feel overwhelming. You don’t have to take that step alone.

If you’re feeling stuck, uncertain, or just need a bit of support to begin, I’m here. Therapy can help you find clarity, build confidence, and make those first steps feel possible — and sustainable.

💬 If you’d like support in moving forward, get in touch. https://nicolehuthwaitetherapy.com/

“Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, only this time more wisely.”

Every time life nudges us off track, it gives us space to pause, reflect, and start again with new insight.

You don’t have to navigate those moments alone. Therapy can offer a supportive, grounding place to make sense of the challenges you’re facing, learn from them, and find a clearer, kinder way forward.

If you’re curious about how therapy might help you begin again —I’d love to chat.

💬 Feel free to enquire or send a message if you’d like to explore what support could look like for you. https://nicolehuthwaitetherapy.com/

After the rush of December, January arrives with a different kind of energy — quieter, calmer, and full of possibility. January gifts us with the time to breathe and the time to pause, reflect and think about what direction we are going in.

Sometimes, friendships end, marriages end, jobs are lost… but know this:

You’ve got this. You’ve got yourself—and that means you’ll always be okay.

What is self-care to you?

For some, it's a quiet morning with coffee and a good book. For others, it's a workout that clears the mind, a long phone call with a friend, or simply saying "no" when you need to.

Self-care isn't one-size-fits-all—it's whatever helps you recharge, reset, and show up as your best self.

I'm curious: What's your go-to form of self-care? Drop it in the comments below. 👇
