This week is Grief Awareness Week ❤ - Grief affects us all differently, and losing a loved one can feel like an ending in so many ways. After that loss, we often don't go back to who we were, but instead, we grow into someone shaped by love, memories, and resilience. This acknowledges there will be some days where you feel grief as strongly as you did when the person first died, but there will also be days when your grief does not feel as strong. It's important to remember no one person’s situation and relationships are the same, and everyone experiences grief differently ❤

We recently conducted a funeral for this gentleman who requested that his final journey be made in his own stock car! His family were quick to make some special customisations so we could fulfil his wishes, and have kindly allowed us to share these pictures of the impressive convoy!

Meet The Team! - James Turner joined Turner and Son in 2023 as the fifth generation of the family business. James has a degree in Business and Management from Lincoln University and has been learning from both Marks all the intricacies Funeral Directing involves.

Now conducting his own funerals, James is building his experience rapidly as a Funeral Director. He recently completed his Arranging and Administration course with distinction and is now working on his final qualification to earn his diploma.

Meet The Team! - Mark Belton joined Turner and Son as a carpentry apprentice originally. He rejoined the team in 2014 to train as a Funeral Director, where he passed his diploma with distinction!

With over a decade of experience behind him, Mark has carried out many funerals for families across Fenland. Mark is an asset to our team and when he's not at work, can be found helping out and coaching our local youth football teams!

Meet The Team! - Mark Turner is the 4th generation of our family business. Starting his career in 1980 as a carpenter joiner, then transitioning into a Funeral Director as the business evolved. Mark has been serving the communities of Fenland for 45 Years, helping thousands of families carry out funerals for their loved ones.

Mark is one of the few Funeral Directors left who could still make a coffin by hand, from scratch - although he reckons it would take him a full day in comparison to modern methods!
