🌼WHAT THE HAPPY POTTERS HAVE BEEN UP TO🌼

The Happy Potters have been busy getting everything ready for Athena in Bloom! 🌸🌱

Our residents have been hard at work planting beautiful Marigolds, Asters and Nasturtiums, adding lots of colour to the garden ready for the warmer months. The marigolds were actually replanted from seeds that had grown, giving them a new home in the garden. 🌼 We’ve also planted a selection of herbs including dill, mustard and sage.🌿

We have also been getting our potatoes prepared for planting in April🥔. The Happy Potters have been sowing vegetables for our large planter, including onions, tomatoes, lettuce and beetroot, so we’re looking forward to watching everything grow over the coming weeks.🧅🍅🫜🥬

To round off the week, we enjoyed our regular visit to our local veterans club, where everyone had a lovely time catching up over a hot drink and biscuits. ☕🍪

Last week we celebrated world book day with a Alice in wonderland theme afternoon tea & were so pleased to have All saints children join us after school in their Book Day outfits 📚🦸🏻‍♀️

Our lovely residents got started on wrapping up the children’s books kindly donated to our ‘Books for the Brave’ collection - if you have any new/hardly used children’s books that you would like to donate to this cause, please pop them in to reception & we will get them wrapped ready to take them to the local hospitals children’s ward in April 🎁

To Bee or not to be, Willow Weave Workshop!
A fun workshop, make your delightful willow sculpture, a buzzy bee or dainty dragonfly or Butterfly, which can be dressed in fairy lights!
Using simple willow weaving and sculpting techniques, including all the components and instruction
Suitable for beginners.All materials are provided if you have your favourite pair of secateurs and gardening gloves please bring them along themed afternoon teas and coffees will be served.
The session will last for 4 and a half hours in total at Aria Court Cafe March PE15 9PP 10th May 1.30-4.30pm

A big thank you to Chris from our Lifestyle & Activities team for attending the Golden Age event on behalf of Aria Court 🤗

The Golden Age Fair brings together organisations, support services and opportunities available to people aged 60+ across Fenland. Throughout the event, Chris spent time speaking with attendees and connecting with a range of local organisations that support people in our community. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the services available locally, share ideas and build relationships that can help support our residents and their families. ☺️

Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop and chat with Chris. We always value these conversations and the chance to strengthen connections within our local community ❤️

It’s British Pie Week and we couldn’t let it pass without getting involved here at Aria Court Care Home 🥧

Today, the Community was filled with the most amazing smell as we made a homemade Bramley apple pie from scratch. We added a sprinkle of cinnamon for that extra warmth and comfort, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The residents enjoyed peeling, mixing and of course tasting their hard work once it had cooked😋

There’s nothing quite like a classic apple pie fresh out of the oven to bring everyone together 💛✨

🌿🌸 Our Happy Potters Gardening Club have been super busy with Marion over the last few days! 🌸🌿

There’s been lots of creativity, laughter and teamwork as everyone has been planting garden pots and getting them ready for spring 🌼🪴

The group have worked so hard and the results are absolutely beautiful 🌷

All of their handmade pots and plants will be available at the Easter Sunday Car Boot Sale at Tesco (March, Cambridgeshire) on the 5th April at 10am–1pm 🐣

✨ Meet Our New Receptionist! ✨

Glenda is one of our wonderful residents here at Aria Court, and recently she told us she would love to help out on reception. So today, she joined us at the front desk — in her uniform!

She did a fantastic job welcoming visitors with her warm smile and helping out on reception.

To make the day even more special, Glenda spent time writing several beautiful thank you cards. Knowing they were handwritten by her makes them even more meaningful 💌

Our lovely residents have been getting creative ahead of St David’s Day by making their very own beautiful paper daffodils! 🌼

We used bright yellow paper for the petals, small paper cups carefully painted orange for the centres, and green lollipop sticks for the stems. There was lots of laughter, concentration and pride as each daffodil came to life. A perfect way to celebrate St David’s Day and welcome the brighter days ahead! 💛

Wow! What a wonderful day we had for our Floral Design Day yesterday! 🌷✨

We began the morning creating our own small flower arrangements. The room quickly filled with conversation, laughter, beautiful bursts of colour and the most gorgeous floral aroma. It was such a joy to see everyone participating, giving each other support & taking pride in their creations 🌸

After lunch, we regrouped for a relaxing sip & paint session, focusing on the very arrangements we made earlier in the day, with a range of floral photos around for extra inspiration, everyone captured their blooms on canvas in their own unique styles 👩🏻‍🎨
It’s safe to say the first trial of our own take on this type of session was a great success & we can’t wait for the next one! ❤️

🌼 A Lovely Day Out for Our Residents 🌼

Yesterday, our wonderful residents at Aria Court Care Home enjoyed a fantastic trip out to Scotsdales Garden Centre 🌿

This outing was inspired by one of our residents, Norman, who shared with our Lifestyles Team that he would love to visit a garden centre. After hearing his wish, the team were delighted to make it happen — just one of the many ways we tailor our activities and experiences around what truly matters to our residents.

Accompanied by our fantastic Lifestyles Team, everyone enjoyed browsing the beautiful plants, gifts and gardening treasures before sitting down for a delicious lunch at the cosy Sunflower Cafe. There was plenty of chatter, laughter and wonderful company around the table.

To top off a perfect outing, everyone chose some lovely flowers to bring back, ready to get planting with Marion next week 🌸 We can’t wait to see our garden blooming with the wonderful choices they picked! 🌷✨
