Today at Oaklands we celebrated St Andrew’s Day 💙🏴

We began with our day by a lively St Andrew’s Day quiz that had the whole group joining in. We also left out some themed word searches for anyone who fancied an extra challenge ✏️🧠

After lunch, coats went on and we headed out for a sunny walk, which was made even more special by a visit from Mia’s adorable puppy, who was very happy to come along 🐶💛

Later in the afternoon, the smell of fresh popcorn filled the home as we settled in for a movie. We watched Mary Queen of Scots in honour of the day, the perfect cosy ending to our celebration 🎬🍿

We started the day with our usual morning exercises, one group of residents in the lounge moving along to ABBA and another in the bistro enjoying Christmas music 🎄

Most of our residents joined in a fun flag quiz afterwards, with plenty of guessing and teamwork❓

The weather put a stop to our afternoon walk but Jo came in for a movement session that kept everyone active and smiling for a full hour 😊

It’s been a lovely, cheerful day at Oaklands. We started with some gentle, music-led exercises to get everyone moving, followed by festive cupcake decorating — a fun and tasty way to ease into the Christmas spirit.

After lunch, a group wrapped up and headed out for a refreshing stroll, enjoying the fresh air and a good chat along the lane. A simple, happy way to round off the day. 💜

It’s been a lovely start to the week at Oaklands 💜

Residents enjoyed a gentle group exercise session, followed by some digital games that kept everyone smiling and engaged. In the afternoon, we had a fun quiz all about films and singers — lots of brilliant answers and plenty of laughs. There was also some peaceful one-to-one time for those who prefer quieter activities.

A really lovely day all round 💜

Residents had a lovely morning decorating gingerbread men, lots of concentration, laughter, and comparing who made the “best dressed” gingerbread! 🍪✨

After lunch, the walking group headed down the lane for some fresh air, with a few new faces joining in. There were plenty of chats about the changing weather and the flowers along the way. 🌼

The afternoon ended on a real high with a visit from the wonderful Lilly-Mae, who sang and played her guitar. She filled the lounge with favourites that had everyone singing along and even a few up dancing! 💜🎸

Residents eased into the day with their morning exercises, all set to familiar 1960s tunes that had a few feet tapping and plenty of smiles. 💜🎶

After lunch, the walking group wrapped up warm and enjoyed a steady stroll down the lane, while others stayed cosy indoors with a 9 Letter Word game — guessing the big word and spotting lots of smaller ones along the way. ✏️🧩

It was a light-hearted and very silly day at Oaklands as we celebrated International Men’s Day! Oaklands staff decided to try out moustaches, much to the residents’ amusement. 😄

The residents' highlight was a game of Pin the Moustache on Jasmine. Residents had to close their eyes and put the moustache on her face with hilarious results! Residents also enjoyed a picture quiz, guessing famous men known for their iconic moustaches.

After lunch, the Oaklands Emporium opened its doors, giving residents the chance to pick up a few essentials and treats to round off the day. 💜

This morning’s Salon Social brought plenty of smiles — the ladies enjoyed a pamper, a cuppa, and a lovely catch-up with friends. 💜💇‍♀️☕

Afterwards, everyone got moving with armchair exercises and an alphabet word game that sparked plenty of laughs and quick thinking.

Following lunch, some residents headed out for a refreshing walk down the lane, while others stayed cosy indoors with a friendly game of quoits or balloon tennis. A simple, feel-good day all round. 💜✨

Amy enjoyed a lovely trip to Fairweather’s Garden Centre today — taking in all the beautiful Christmas decorations, sparkling displays, and trees, and finishing with a cosy cappuccino. 🎄☕💜

Back at Oaklands, residents started the morning with armchair exercises and a fun round of beanbag games. After lunch, some wrapped up for a refreshing stroll under the blue sky, while others spent the afternoon enjoying relaxed one-to-one time with the activities team.

Residents eased into the day with exercises set to ABBA — always guaranteed to lift the mood and get everyone smiling. 🎶✨

With King Charles celebrating his 75th birthday today, we marked the occasion with a couple of fun quizzes about the monarchy, along with a picture round of famous faces. 👑📸

After lunch, some residents kept the laughter going with a lively game of 5 Second Rule, while others enjoyed some one-to-one time with the activities team. 💜

Oaklands residents got moving this morning with their exercises, followed by a lively beanbag target game — with big congratulations to Ina, who scored an impressive 720 points! 🎯👏

After lunch, some residents enjoyed a refreshing stroll down the lane, while others opted for a cosy afternoon with jigsaw puzzles or a good film. 🍂🧩🎬

This morning saw plenty of energy as residents grooved along to 70s disco hits during their exercises — lots of laughs and a few cheeky dance moves! 🎶💃

Later, some had a relaxed game of floor dominoes, while the walking group soaked up the sunshine on a refreshing afternoon stroll. 🌞🍂

Others joined in a spirited game of table hockey or settled down to enjoy a cosy film. 🎬🧩
