Hello and welcome to Alex @ Soft Tissue Solutions where your pain, injury and/or rehabilitation is my priority. All clients receive confidential treatment tailored to their specific needs. This could be through one-off, medium or long term treatment plans which are determined following an initial assessment with the client. As a qualified Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist through the Oxford School of Sports Massage (OSSM) and a recognised member of the Institute of Soft Tissue Therapists (ISRM) you know you are in safe hands. I am also Myofascial Release and Acupuncture qualified and regularly incorporate these advanced techniques as part of a treatment, when required.

*** Soft Tissue Therapy ***
is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues of the body including myofascia, muscles, tendons and ligaments. It has evolved from Sports Massage and is now becoming the only therapy that used these hands-on techniques to treat minor and chronic injuries. Soft Tissue Therapy can help people from all walks of life, suffering with the widest range of musculoskeletal problems, caused by any of life’s stresses. It isn’t about treating “injuries”, it’s about treating “people” with injuries because everyone is different and should be treated as an individual person, not just an injury.

*** Sports and Remedial Massage ***
is where I originally started and still a big part of what I do. You do not need to be 'sporty' to enjoy the many benefits of a Sports & Remedial massage such as, releasing muscle tightness and tension, enhancing circulation and increasing tissue elasticity. If you need a pre- or post-event treatment or you're training for an endurance event this is the perfect treatment to help you with your goals.

***Myofascial Release***
is the use of enhanced soft tissue techniques to release tight myofascia in the body which restricts range of motion and causes pain in a localised or referred area. Myofascia is a thin, web-like tissue that surrounds every muscle fiber, muscle, bone and organ in the body. For 8 years, I have had the pleasure of working with a vast range of clients, from people recovering from surgery to Olympic and Commonwealth elite athletes, professional footballers and career professionals to amateur athletes, boxers, Ironman atheletes, young people and the retired and I would love to work with you. When working with athletes returning to running at the latter stages of their rehab, it’s imperative to stress that these are not sessions to improve fitness, they are purely to improve tolerance to running and increased forces.

Too often, athletes will think “it’s only 20 mins, I’ll go quite hard to get the lungs working or get a sweat on”.

Avoid this by using other forms of exercise to get the fitness work done, and ensure that the return to run is just that.

You can add the return to run session onto the end of a harder bike or swim for example so that it connects the dots and feels easier to control.

Once we have built sufficient volume at low speed, and we are confident you can tolerate it, then we can transition to fitness work.

It’s an easy mistake to make,but a tough one to correct once made.
