I was chatting with our lovely client Janet yesterday. She wore her purple Francis Klein glasses with a beautiful dress she had made herself. I asked if I could take a quick picture of her because she just looked so good!
Janet owns Staffordshire Sewing Machines in Eccleshall and The Corner Patch next door -a fabric and haberdashery shop where she offers expert tuition and workshops, along with everything you could possibly need for sewing, dressmaking, patchwork, and quilting. So it’s no surprise that her love of all things artistic and unique extends to her eyewear, and why she loves her limited edition handmade Francis Klein frames.
I shared with her how often women who have met her come to us afterwards, saying how much they love her glasses and how she has opened their eyes to be braver with their own glasses choices.
Janet laughed and said, “Yes, but for everyone who loves them, there is someone who quietly rolls their eyes -who is clearly not a fan”
“But that’s okay.” She smiled “I have reached a point in my life where I realise it’s impossible to please everyone, so you might as well please yourself and wear what you love and feel good in.”
And she’s absolutely right. So often many of us spend our lives trying to please others, to blend in, to wear what we think we should. But real style isn’t about pleasing everyone. It’s about being true to yourself and feeling comfortable in your own skin.
And when we do that, we give others permission to do the same.
And this is why Janet inspires so many. Her glasses, her clothes, her creativity all tell the story of someone who decided to stop asking for permission and start dressing for joy- and this has a powerful impact on those around her.
When we wear what lights us up, the world around us lights up too. ✨
Which is why at Style Optique, your glasses are never just a pair of glasses. They are your way of showing the world who you are ❤️
