Steven is diagnosed with autism, epilepsy, and a learning disability. He lived in a hospital setting for around 11 years before moving to our supported living services in 2016. Next Steps is an award-winning company at the Great British Care Awards for “Putting People First” and “The Care Innovation Award” at the Hertfordshire Care Awards. We provide supported living services for individuals with autism, mental health, learning disabilities and complex needs.

We are looking for a highly motivated, friendly, and dedicated Service Manager to oversee a group of services in the Welwyn Garden City area. The role will be primarily based in the office, however some travel and working in the surrounding area will also be required.

Overview of Role
• Managing supported living services, including the staff, budgets, and resources to ensure that the most appropriate and highest possible standards of care are delivered and appropriately evidenced.
• Business development in developing new areas where the company can expand into.
• Recruiting, developing, and motivating staff members to meet the needs of the people we support. Empowering them to deliver a quality service, which is always compliant.
• Manage and develop teams to provide sustainable, quality services which truly transform people’s lives.
• To develop and maintain innovative and engaging activities and plans.
• Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, professionals, and the local community to achieve objectives using best practice guidelines.

Key skills and experience required include:
• A minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with a learning disability and autism.
• Knowledge of in managing challenging behaviour utilising a positive behaviour approach.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement/marketing skills and working closely with families.
• Experienced registered manager with excellent knowledge of CQC compliance.
• A person-centred approach to working with people with a Learning disability.
• Proven track record in successfully managing supported living services.
• Strong working knowledge of care standards and regulations.
• Extensive leadership and management skills.
• A full UK license is essential.

Salary: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
