I was thinking this week about who online coaching ISN'T for...⁣
⁣⁣
My genuine initial response is, there aren’t many people that it really won’t work for⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you want the best overall approach to losing body fat and drastically changing the way you look and feel, it’s likely this will tick the boxes.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
But of course, there have been people in the past that it hasn’t worked for- here’s why it didn’t work for them:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1) It’s not “in person” and some people need to turn up to a certain place, at a certain time and be put through their paces by a real human. These people are far better suited to 1:1 personal training and I’m not going to try and persuade them anyone other way because remote nature of online coaching simply doesn’t fit their needs.⁣⁣
⁣⁣

2) I don’t write meal plans, I (dare I say it) won’t ever write meal plans because I genuinely don’t believe meal plans solve anyone’s problems. ⁣

I could write you a meal plan for 8 weeks, where you eat the same s**t day in, day out and let’s say you even lose 10KG. ⁣

Then what? The meal plan hasn’t taught you any real life eating habits, so unless you want to go backwards, you’d need to be on a meal plan for the rest of your life and no-one wants that. ⁣

It’d be much more useful if I taught you how to use calories and macros to eat flexibly, in real life situations, in order to meet your goals, which is of course exactly what I do.⁣⁣

3) Some people just aren’t willing to break out of old habits, that haven’t served them positively, to form new ones that’ll change their life. That’s not me being a dick, it’s just the truth. ⁣

People that have succeeded at literally anything in the world all have one thing in common- they worked at it. ⁣

If you’re not willing to work at yourself, online coaching or in fact any fitness coaching, isn’t for you right now. I have the BEST time working with individuals who want to listen and learn in order to improve themselves and reach their goals.⁣

I write this, sat in a cafe having just devoured a club sandwich...⁣

I've been thinking about my own nutrition a fair bit recently.⁣

It has been very much "on the fly" - the exact opposite of what I teach my clients.⁣

The lack of wifi in our house has meant I've been taking day trips to coffee shops to work, which has inevitably meant eating away from home too.⁣

And here's what I've concluded:⁣

"You can't out-discipline a broken strategy"⁣

The idea that you can get your brain to play ball, making the 'right' choices , many times a day, 7 days a week is daft.⁣

After 2 days I was "needing" something sweet to conclude my lunch and here I am the other side of a 700 calorie sandwich.⁣

My clear lack of organisation has left me wide open to s**t decisions.⁣

It's a beautiful reminder of just how bloody hard nutrition can be if you don't have the right systems in place.⁣
