We have implemented new measures for our night staff!🌙

They are now able to wear their pyjamas for their shift, from 7pm-7am. We have done this to help many of our residents as some seem to be quite unsettled at night and we were trying to think of ways to help minimise this.

🌙 Have you heard of sundown syndrome?🌙

Sundowning, or sundown syndrome, is a set of symptoms including increased confusion, anxiety, agitation, and restlessness occurring in people living with dementia, typically in the late afternoon or evenings.

By our night staff wearing their pyjamas for their shift, our residents have become increasingly more settled because everyone is wearing theirs and are familiar with the fact that pyjamas means bedtime or night time.
So if you’re visiting us from 7pm, it’s not that the staff forgot to put on their uniform, their pyjamas is their uniform!😁

Happy Chinese New Year from today until the 3rd of March!

Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival, marks the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. It celebrates the end of winter and the beginning of Spring!🌷🌺🌸🌼🌻🌞

We will be doing some Chinese New Year activities this week, including our favourite, colouring! 🎨

The kind of person we are looking for is…

🧩 someone who can provide smiles all day long!😁
🧩 someone who is caring and has an understanding of Dementia and other needs🥰
🧩 someone who has a great imagination! 💭
🧩 someone who is creative! 🎨
🧩 someone who has some spare time and would like to spend it with our residents!☺️

Experience is not required as this will be a ‘learning on the job’ position but if you have had experience in adult social care then that’s a bonus!⭐️

As this is a voluntary role it will be unpaid.
