This time of year can be extra difficult to navigate for all sorts of reasons... if you need a little help finding your way, Night Light Cafe - Market Rasen meets at Market Rasen New Life Church every Monday 6pm to 9pm staffed by trained volunteers to shine a light, or simply sit with you to listen and help you find the glimmers of joy to encourage you to keep on keeping on ✨️

No one is measuring your ‘festive’.
It is not a badge of honour.
And none of the ‘stuff’ matters, truly.
But what does matter is you.

You deserve to feel as much of the good things as you’ve shouldered the bad.

And I know it seems impossible to imagine sometimes but joy is waiting to sneak in for you. In the simple moments of ‘nothingness’. You just have to let her.

She doesn’t need you to usher out grief or sadness, she simply needs you to let her join the party.

Without her, life is just too hard. Let her in. Let it all in.

✨️THIS!✨️👇 our sister cafe in Bourne makes a brilliant point. We open on Mondays at the same times, but you can drop us a pm or simply turn up at any point.

Even without watching I'm a Celeb, this message is great to see on prime time national television, and importantly, it feels so genuine.

Jack Osborne has been showing strong emotions when talking about memories and the loss of his father, Ozzy, only a few months ago. The response of his camp mates has been heartwarming. They have all given him the space to express how he feels, validated how he feels and comforted him the best they can.

That's what our amazing volunteers do, create a safe space where visitors can express their emotions, feel validated for doing so and beyond that, help to consider necessary signposting and/ or referrals

Come see our team, Monday evenings 6pm until 9pm,

or email enquiries@dontlosehope.co.uk to book time between 6pm and 9pm with a listener on Wednesday evenings, though appointments aren't necessary, it will guarantee one to one support

The overwhelm is real ... look after your mental health. Give yourself a break from the world by doing something that brings you joy. Look for the glimmers of light - a smile from a stranger, a flower blooming in unexpected place, a simple cuppa with a good friend, a joke, a hug. We're here for you 💚

This year, for on 10th October the Mental Health Foundation are focussing on how overwhelming the world feels right now. A relentless cycle of negative news is taking its toll on all of our mental health and may be resulting in symptoms of chronic stress. Couple that with difficult personal situations and things can get bad pretty quickly.

You can find more info at this link, including some of the symptoms of chronic stress - and their not just emotional. Aches and pains? Difficulty sleeping? Digestive problems? All of these can be linked to stress. https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/explore-mental-health/articles/overwhelm-when-global-events-and-relentless-bad-news-become-too-much

Today is - which means it's a great day to ask someone you know how they are. And if they don't really answer, ask them again.

✅ Check on a neighbour
✅ Suggest a group lunch at work
✅ Call someone you haven't seen for a while

We're better together.
