After nearly six years of working under the name ReInkOurNation, and after much thought and consideration, and quite a bit of anxiety I'd like to announce that I have a new name for the same face. Here's the story behind the name change - For many years I yearned to become a tattoo artist but found I didn't have the drive nor confidence to traipse from studio to studio pushing my work, trying to secure an apprenticeship. I turned to tattooing wood and leather instead, thus ReInkOurNation was born. In choosing ReInkOurNation as my business name I hoped to convey my desire to add ink style designs to alternate surfaces, spreading my love of tattoos to a new medium. I love upcycling items, reinventing them, revitalising them but 'tattoo' both old and new items in my quest to make everything unique. Over the years of burning my focus has shifted to a love of nature themes and so it only felt right to reflect this is my shop name, hence the new banner, Sylvan Stories. A place to indulge in my love of leaves and flowers and all things foresty, and perhaps the occasional Star Wars, Doctor Who and tattoo inspired piece may pop up too. I'm only just getting set up over there and there's not much to see yet but please go have a like. I will be taking commissions as normal (don't worry, you're not tied to a forest/nature theme) so please get in touch if you've an idea or a special occasion coming up.

Well, time is certainly flying by while I'm on maternity leave. I cannot believe it's been two months since I last checked in for a quick hello. Today I'm sharing a wedding commission I worked on shortly before signing off for my maternity leave (by shortly I mean it was a case of 'not yet baby' as I only just finished these pieces with a few days grace before little Wren arrived).

The kids are all done for the summer and so am I. I'm officially on maternity leave now but I'll be popping by to share my recent commissions as often as I can so please do keep an eye out.
