It was a pleasure to welcome the Phoenix Brass Band to Froxfield last night for their annual Christmas concert, playing carols and lots of festive songs.

Our residents had the best possible view, watching the band play under our pergola surrounded by lots of twinkly lights that really added to the magic of the music.

The residents enjoyed hot chocolate while our guests were treated to mulled wine, soup, mince pies and sausage rolls.

As the weather was so mild last night, many of our visitors went into the garden to watch the band and join in with the songs.

Thank you to the band and to everyone who came along and supported one of our favourite nights of the year.

Meet Our Newest Furry Friend, Charlie — and His Wonderful Human, Simon!

We’re delighted to introduce Simon, a new volunteer with the charity Canine Concern, and his lovely dog Charlie, who have officially joined our Froxfield family. 🐾💙

Charlie came for his very first visit last week, and we’re thrilled to say it went brilliantly! He brought plenty of wagging tails, gentle cuddles, and lots of smiles to our residents. It was heart-warming to see the joy and comfort he brought to everyone he met.

A huge thank-you to Simon for volunteering his time, and to Charlie for sharing his calm, friendly nature with us. We’re looking forward to many more happy visits! 🐶✨

Wreath-Making Afternoon Fun! 🎄✨
residents spent a wonderful afternoon refreshing their Christmas door wreaths — and what a transformation! With friends and family joining in, we got creative, added some sparkle, and brought new life to wreaths that were looking a little tired.

Lots of laughter, plenty of festive spirit, and some truly beautiful results. ❤️✨

✨🐴 A festive surprise at Brendoncare Froxfield!

Residents and team members were delighted to welcome a very special visitor – Gin, a 12-year-old donkey from Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary near Didcot.

Gin toured the home with her owners, John and Linda McLaren, bringing calm, joy, and a touch of Christmas magic. The visit was inspired by resident Jan, who has adopted Bentley, another donkey at the sanctuary, and wanted to share the happiness these gentle animals bring.

Already something of a star, Gin has even appeared in Carmen at the Royal Opera House! 🎭

We all have an emotional link with donkeys, perhaps through memories of seaside rides or keeping them as pets. With her calm, patient nature and beautiful soft fur, the residents and team members all fell in love with gorgeous Gin.
