This part of a Kriya affects Swadhisthana, or the Sacral Chakra and gets us in touch with what’s known as the β€˜gratitude line’ in Kundalini Yoga - the connection between the head, heart and gut brains. The head brain is where we intellectualise/analyse, the heart brain is about giving/receiving, or surrender/action, and the gut brain is about connection and nourishment. Through practice, we aim to live our lives through the connection of all three πŸ™
🧑 Twists in Rock Pose - Sit on your heels in Rock Pose and take hold of the shoulders with fingers in front and the thumbs at the back. Inhale as you twist left, exhale as you twist to the right. Continue for 2-3 minutes.
🧑 Sufi Grind - Sit in Easy Pose with the hands on the knees. Rotate the torso in a counterclockwise direction for 1 1/2 minutes, then rotate in a clockwise direction for another 1 1/2 minutes.
Keep the eyes closed and focus on the third eye centre throughout the practice πŸ‘

Don’t be too concerned with how long you can sustain it. It’s more important how often you check in. If you keep checking in, the sustaining of it happens on its own.

This part of a Kriya affects Mooladhara, or the Root Chakra ❀️
❀️ Sit on the right heel with the left leg straight and toes pointed. Place the hands on the ground near the hips and raise the left leg up to 60 degrees (or as far as you can!). Avoid leaning back. Breathing is long and steady. Hold for 1 minute and then repeat on the other side.
❀️ Sit with both legs stretched out and toes pointed. Again, have the hands near the hips. Raise both legs to 60 degrees and hold for 1 minute. Again, try to avoid leaning back as much as you can.

This part of a Kriya affects Mooladhara, or the Root Chakra and stimulates the rising of the kundalini energy up the spine, or central channel (the Sushumna).
❀️ Body Drops: Sit in full Lotus Pose or Easy Pose. Place the fists, or palms on the mat close to the body, between the hips and the knees. Raise and drop the hips 25-30 times (in Easy Pose aim to use the strength of the core and arms to lift the hips). Then, engage root lock (moola bandha) and suspend the breath; pull up the pelvic floor, draw in the lower belly, press the tongue to the roof of the mouth (khechari mudra), inhale and hold the breath as you lift the gaze up towards the top of the head. Hold as long as you can (comfortably!) and exhale, release the breath, and observe the sensations in your body.

These parts of a Kriya affect the Heart Centre, or Anahata Chakra. The first exercise gathers prana, or energy, into the Heart Chakra while the second exercise stimulates and circulates that energy.
πŸ’š Sit in Rock Pose, with the arms straight and stretched out, parallel to the ground and the palms facing each other. In an alternating movement, make fists of the hands and pull them towards the Heart centre, as if you’re pulling a weight. The breath matches the movement - inhale as the hand comes towards you, exhale as it moves away. Continue for 2-3 minutes.
πŸ’š Sit in Easy Pose - clap the hands in front of the chest with the arms straight and parallel to the floor. Immediately, bring the arms out to the side with the wrists bent backwards. Then, bend the arms to clap behind the head and, finally, clap behind the lower back. Long, deep breathing. Clap loudly and move the arms rapidly for 2-3 minutes.
