The rose has long been a symbol of the Goddess. The mystical queen of all the flowers, the conduit for the divine mysteries.
From Ishtar to Isis, Aphrodite to Venus, Innanna to Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene the rose thread connects the feminine divine and opens a pathway for us to go deeper into our hearts, into our lineage, into our gnosis.
What I love most about the rose is that we often see her beauty, her fragrant bloom, her inviting us to come closer, to drink her in, to revel in her feminine delights and beauty. But so often we forget her other aspect. Her thorns. Her protection, her boundaries.
She is soft, she is flowing, she is beauty but she is also protection, thorns, the divine masculine aspect of her showing up as those prickles, allowing her to set the boundaries for her to do what she was born to do.
This is the whole premise of love fiercely. To balance these two opposing energies. To know that we can be soft with power and we too can be power while leading from intuition and the heart.
Love doesn’t have to be one or the other, it can be both and in doing that we get to embrace all aspect of ourselves, show up exactly as we are, holding the softness, magic and wildness of the feminine alongside the power, strength and protection of the masculine within ourselves.
We get to be both, we get to hold it all and in doing so fully bloom.
Sending much love today
