🔥 A very busy week for the Medical and Water Safety Ltd training team! 🔥

We’ve been full throttle delivering training across both our water safety and medical teams.

✅ We started the week running the first of 25 DEFRA compliant Water Awareness courses for a client, helping staff understand the real risks of working near water and how to stay safe.

🌊 Next up was a 2-day Rescue 3 Europe – Safe Working in Water course, giving candidates the practical skills and confidence needed to operate safely in and around moving water environments.

🚑 Meanwhile, our medical team have been delivering a First Response Emergency Care (FREC) course, training the next group of responders to deal with real-life emergencies.

With multiple courses running at the same time it was a little busy on site today, but it’s great to see so many people developing vital lifesaving skills.

🚤🔧 Prepping the Fleet for 2026! 🔧🚤

Behind every safe event and smooth operation is a lot of hard work before the season even starts…

Over the past few weeks we’ve been busy servicing and preparing a number of our boats, making sure they’re fully ready for the year ahead.

Preventative maintenance is key to reliability on the water – especially when you’re providing professional safety cover.

A few of the team also headed down to Tohatsu UK for specialist training in servicing, fault finding and general maintenance of our outboards. Investing in manufacturer-led training means we can keep our engines running at peak performance and minimise downtime during the busy season.
While we were there… we may have picked up a few more engines too 👀

Back at base, we’ve also been freshening up the fleet with some new branding on both boats and outboards – keeping everything looking sharp, professional and easily identifiable on the water.

This week we’ve had two more of our commercial Safety Boats successfully pass their non-private BSS inspections ✅

For those who don’t know, this isn’t just a quick check — our boats must meet commercial Boat Safety Scheme standards, and we are required to submit:
📋 Inspection certification
🛡️ Insurance
📄 Licences
➡️ Directly to the Environment Agency

This ensures we are fully authorised and compliant to operate professionally on the River Thames.

We now have:
🚤 7 fully licensed Boats ready for deployment
➕ 5 additional vessels available on call for larger or multi-site operations

🚑🌊 Busy weekend and an exciting start to the week at Medical & Water Safety Ltd! 🌊🚑

Over the weekend, we delivered a RYA First Aid course, with another great group gaining essential lifesaving skills.

To kick off the week, one of our team has been away completing an instructor observation, supporting our journey to deliver even more Rescue 3 Europe courses. This is a big step forward for us and means we’ll are able to offer even more high-quality training.

🚤 Week 2 and already full throttle! 🚤

We’re only into the second week of the year and it’s already been a busy one for the team at Medical & Water Safety Ltd.

✅ Two safety boats and experienced crew deployed on site with less than 48 hours’ notice to provide week-long operational cover

✅ Operations team meeting held to plan and prepare for the year ahead

✅ And to top it off… a brand new trailer and new outboard engine added to the fleet to keep raising standards in water safety

A huge thank you to the team for their flexibility, professionalism and commitment as we head into another year of delivering safe, reliable water safety solutions.

❄️➡️🔥 From breaking ice to a warm classroom – just another week at Medical and Water Safety Ltd!

This week our team had to literally break ice to gain access and make the site safe before work could even begin – a real reminder that emergency and medical response doesn’t stop just because conditions are tough.

At our training centre it was a very different story… a warm, comfortable classroom and a full-on FREC 4 course underway. Practical scenarios, focused learning, and plenty of great discussion as our learners built the skills and confidence needed to deal with real-world emergencies.

At Medical and Water Safety Ltd, it’s all part of raising the standards in water safety and pre-hospital care.

It was a very cold day for our training team yesterday running a Water Rescue First Responder and Swiftwater Rescue Technician CPD Session. We will have a lot more specialist courses running in 2026 so watch this space.
