Chronic disc pain isn’t complicated.
What’s complicated is how much bad advice people are given.
Stretch it.
Strengthen it.
Live with it.
Accept degeneration.
Manage your expectations.
None of that treats the disc.
It treats the conversation around the disc.
You cannot rehab a structure that is still under compression.
You can throw exercises at it for years.
You can inject it.
Mask it.
Tape it.
Manipulate around it.
But if the pressure inside the disc never changes,
the biology never changes.
And then patients are blamed when they don’t improve.
“They’re not compliant.”
“They didn’t do enough rehab.”
“It’s just age.”
No.
It’s physics.
A compressed disc cannot heal in a compressed environment.
This is first-principle biomechanics — not alternative theory, not opinion.
Yet most people with disc injuries never receive treatment that directly addresses intradiscal pressure.
That’s why they circle the same pain for years.
IDD Therapy exists for one reason:
to change the mechanical conditions that standard rehab ignores.
When you change the forces, the tissue responds.
When you don’t, pain becomes a lifestyle.
You’re under-treated.
And there’s a difference.
