Family time doesn’t have to mean putting your back on hold 💙

Whether it’s a weekend walk, kicking a ball around, or chasing little ones at the park — staying active with your family is one of the best things you can do for both your body *and* your wellbeing.

If you’re living with back pain or a spinal condition, it’s easy to feel like you have to sit these moments out. But with the right support and treatment, movement can become part of your recovery — not something to avoid.

As a physiotherapist specialising in IDD (Intervertebral Differential Dynamics) therapy, I help people get back to doing the things that matter most… like making memories with their family.

✨ Move with confidence
✨ Reduce pain safely
✨ Stay present for the moments that count

Don’t let back pain write you out of your family story.

To all the amazing parents out there 💛

It’s easy to think of therapy as something that only happens in structured sessions — but some of the most valuable progress happens during everyday play.

When your child is reaching for a toy, climbing at the park, or simply laughing and moving freely, they’re building strength, coordination, and confidence. With guidance from a physiotherapist specialising in IDD, these small, playful moments can become powerful opportunities for growth.

You don’t need perfect routines or special equipment — just time, patience, and play.

Those little wins you see? They matter more than you know ✨

Keep playing, keep encouraging, and keep celebrating every step forward.

I’ve been back on the IDD machine today.

Not because I’m broken
Not because anything has “gone wrong.”

But because I noticed a small ni**le creeping in over the last few days.

And I’ve learned not to ignore that.

Most people wait until pain stops them.
Until it’s bad enough. Until it disrupts their life.

Then they react.

But the body whispers long before it shouts.

So instead of waiting for the ni**le to become a problem, I chose to get ahead of it.

A bit of smart maintenance.
A bit of space back into the spine before anything escalates.

This is the shift most people never make:

👉 From reacting to pain
👉 To maintaining their body

Because staying well isn’t about doing more when things go wrong…
It’s about doing the right things before they do.

This is exactly how I now look after my own spine.

Not as a last resort.
But as part of keeping it strong, mobile and resilient long term.

Most people don’t need more exercises.
They need a better strategy.

Sun, sea… and spinal health 🌊☀️

A day at the beach is one of life’s simplest pleasures—but it can also be surprisingly demanding on your body. Walking on uneven sand, carrying bags, or lounging in awkward positions can all put extra strain on your spine.

As a physiotherapist specialising in IDD (Intervertebral Differential Dynamics) therapy, I always remind my patients: movement is medicine—but balance is key.

🏖️ Beach day tips for your back:
✔️ Switch positions regularly—don’t stay slouched for too long
✔️ Use a rolled towel for lumbar support when sitting
✔️ Lift smart—bend your knees when picking up bags or little ones
✔️ Stay hydrated—your discs need it too!

And if your back starts to complain after your seaside escape, IDD therapy can help gently decompress and restore healthy movement to your spine.

Enjoy the waves, take care of your body, and keep moving pain-free 💙

You won’t have to explain yourself here.

Not why you’re tired all the time.
Not why your body aches in places that don’t seem to make sense.
Not why the exercises haven’t worked… even though you’ve done them properly.

I already understand the pattern.

The constant pressure.
The mental load.
The way you keep going for everyone else —
whilst your own body gets pushed further and further down the list.

So when you finally do ask for help…
and you’re given a few exercises and sent on your way…

Of course it feels like no one is really seeing you.

Because they’re not.

They’re treating a body part.

Not the person carrying it.

This is different.

Here, you’re listened to properly.
Everything is taken into account — your body, your stress, your life.

And instead of guessing your way through it,
you’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s happening
and a plan that actually makes sense for you.

But more than that…

For the first time in a long time,
you’ll be able to stop holding it all together.

You’re not imagining it.

The aches.
The stiffness.
The way your body just doesn’t feel like your body anymore.

Your neck and shoulders are constantly tight.
Your back flares up for no clear reason.
Your hips ache.
You wake up tired… even after a full night’s sleep.

And when you’ve asked for help?

You’ve been given exercises.
Maybe medication.
Reassurance that it’s “just one of those things.”

But no one has really explained
why this is happening
or what to do about it long-term.

Meanwhile, life doesn’t slow down.

Work.
Children.
Your relationship.
Ageing parents.
The mental load that never really switches off.

So you keep going.
Because you have to.

But your body is telling a different story.

This isn’t just “getting older.”
And it’s not something you have to put up with.

When your body is under constant pressure — physically and emotionally —
it will start to hold tension, protect, compensate… and eventually, complain.

That’s where this kind of pain comes from.

And it needs more than a sheet of exercises.

It needs someone who will actually listen,
understand what’s really going on,
and give you a clear, personalised plan to move forward.

That’s exactly what I do.

You’ve been managing it.
Pushing through it.
Putting yourself last.

Now is the time to put yourself first.

A day in the park isn’t just relaxing — it’s powerful for your spine 🌿

Fresh air, gentle movement, and time to unwind all support your body’s natural healing process. Whether it’s a slow walk, stretching on the grass, or simply sitting with good posture, these small moments make a big difference.

For those dealing with back pain or disc issues, treatments like IDD Therapy can help restore movement and reduce discomfort — so you can enjoy more days like this, pain-free.

Take the time. Move a little. Breathe deeply. Your spine will thank you 💚

Most people with pain aren’t lacking effort.

They’re lacking the right lens.

They’ve been given exercises for the area that hurts.
Medication to manage the symptoms.
Advice that treats the body like separate parts.

And for some people, that works.

But for the ones who are still in pain months — or years — later…
it’s usually because no one has stepped back and looked at the whole picture.

How everything is interacting.
What the body is compensating for.
What it’s been holding onto.

That’s where things change.

I don’t treat body parts.

I look at the person in front of me.
Properly.
Thoroughly.
Without rushing.

Because when you understand the body as a whole,
the solution becomes a lot

If you’ve tried everything and it still hasn’t worked,
it might be time for a different approach.
