Do you might know somebody who would benefit from one of the spaces in a perimenopause workshop I'm involved in running?Someone who wouldn't normally be able to afford to attend?

Our non profit Community Interest Company, The Nurture Collective, was given a grant from The National Lottery recently to cover the cost of running 4 Perimenopause Workshops in Sheffield, and another 4 in Doncaster, so that women with low incomes can benefit from sessions that would normally cost too much money.

The sessions will be very special, with movement, breathing practices and relaxation woven into a learning experience. Participants will learn lots about how to manage some of the things they might experience during the lead up to menopause and beyond. For example, insomnia, rage, hot flushes, pelvic floor weakness, etc. You'll get a chance to meet other women in the same stage of life and a delicious, nutritious lunch is included so you'll go home feeling full of knowledge and nourishment.

Once a year I bring my 4 day Children's Yoga Teaching Course to Bristol, (St Werburghs Community Centre). It's so much fun! And gives you all the skills you need to teach children in a wide variety of settings, including schools. This year the dates are:

It'll be the last Thursday of the month this week, so that means it's Pelvic Power workshop time. On zoom as usual, from the comfort of yer own house. 8pm til just after 9. £8.
No need to interact, it's fine to simply listen, although questions are welcomed.

Sheffielders, I'm going to run a bunch of Thursday morning yoga classes in Meersbrook, starting 9th September and taking us up to the beginning of December, (with a possibility of continuing in 2022 if everyone loves it). Would you like to come?
9.30am til 10.30am at the scout hut on Canterbury Rd, (off Rushdale Rd). Have you checked this place out? It looks pretty rubbish on the outside, but is splendid within and has a massive garden too. It's a lovely place for a yoga class.
The fee is £7 per class, but do ask me about a discount for low/no earners.
The class will be suitable for everybody. I've been doing this lark for 20 years and am good at adapting the physical stuff for beginners, super fit bods, pregnant women, postnatal peeps, and people with uncomfortable bits. Ask me if you have any particular pains or limitations, I can almost certainly work something out for you. I am also pretty good at facilitating peace and calm, with luxurious breathwork and relaxation.
You'll just need a yoga mat and a blanket, (or anything else you think would make you extra cosy in the lying down bit of the class).
Yoga is such a wonderful way of understanding how to take care of your body and find space and joy in your life. Get in touch if this sounds like something you need x

If you haven't yet tried my Pelvic Power Workshop, there's another chance tomorrow night. I run them every month on the last Thursday of the month. 8pm til approx 9pm, (£8).
The workshop is very interesting, full of fascinating anatomy and easy exercises. It's all on Zoom. You can choose to have your camera on or off and you can simply listen or ask questions if you have them.
Even if your deep core muscles are totally fine, understanding exactly how to keep them powerful has enormous value for later in life.

The workshop is a one off kinda thing, but in case you want a regular strengthening practice, you might also be interested in my new Core Power class. A mini session of just half an hour on Wednesdays at 10.15am. None of the extra yoga fluff, just deep internal core work. Not a sit up in sight, so don't expect a sweaty workout.. It's all done from a horizontal position! Accessible to anyone who can lie down. These regular weekly sessions are cheap as chips, (£20 for 6, or £3.50 pay as you go).

Children's Yoga Teacher Training Course coming up. The course is 4 days, on Zoom.

9.30am til 5pm each day.

I have taught several of these now and have found that the best way to deliver, (to help avoid zoom fatigue), is in 4 blocks through the day. Each block is either 1 hour, or 1.5 hours, depending on the module. Between each block is a decent break, during which I encourage you to turn off your computer.
Luckily with Children's Yoga, it's very difficult to be bored. The theory is balanced with full power fun and the experience is fully interactive.

The course is brimming with ideas for inspiring children to practice yoga and includes:
