IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE

Dear Patients

We want to let you know that we will be offering a reduced service on 24/03/2026, as we are required carry out an essential upgrade to our digital patient system. This work is necessary to enhance the quality and reliability of the services we provide to you.

During this period, you may experience some temporary changes to the way we operate:

· We will not be able to take advanced bookings for appointments.
· Access to computerised records and information will be limited.
· On this day we will not be able to process any repeat prescriptions so please ensure you have enough of your medication

Our team will still be here to support you and ensure that urgent and essential care is available. If you require medical attention or advice during these dates, please contact the surgery as you normally would.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to improve your experience with us. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued support.

Some GP Practices will be closed today (Tuesday 24th February) to carry out staff training. During these times the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service will provide urgent care and support to patients of practices which are closed.

Patients or Community Pharmacies who require to contact a participating GP Practice urgently during the time they are closed for Protected Learning Time should call the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service on 01563 826930.

We are looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly team here at Carrick Medical Practice. We are looking for someone to work between 20 to 28 Hours over a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

We are looking for an ANP who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the General Practice.

GP Practices and NHS Dentists will be closed on Thursday 25th of December and will reopen on Monday 29th December 2025, and again from Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of January 2026 until Monday 5th January 2026. Some community pharmacists will remain open during this period to answer questions on choosing and using the right medicine and provide advice on treating everyday ailments.
