We are looking for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly team here at Carrick Medical Practice. We are looking for someone to work between 20 to 28 Hours over a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

We are looking for an ANP who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the General Practice.

GP Practices and NHS Dentists will be closed on Thursday 25th of December and will reopen on Monday 29th December 2025, and again from Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of January 2026 until Monday 5th January 2026. Some community pharmacists will remain open during this period to answer questions on choosing and using the right medicine and provide advice on treating everyday ailments.

Some GP Practices will be closed today (Wednesday 26 November) to carry out staff training. During these times the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service will provide urgent care and support to patients of practices which are closed.

Patients or Community Pharmacies who require to contact a participating GP Practice urgently during the time they are closed for Protected Learning Time should call the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service on 01563 826930.

Carrick Medical Practice will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 26 November 2025 to carry out staff training. During these times the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service will provide urgent care and support to patients of our practice while we are closed.

Should you need to call the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service the contact number is 01563 826930. This number will only be available during times when the practice is usually open. After 5:30 please contact 111.

The latest phase of the waiting list validation work being carried out by NHS Ayrshire & Arran and the National Elective Coordination Unit (NECU) will see local patients who have currently waited over 26 weeks for an inpatient or day case procedure contacted by text.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are currently short staffed due to this we will be unable to open the prescription line until 9:30 today. For urgent prescriptions before this please call the main line or put requests in online or via the black box at the front desk. Please be mindful when calling us today as due to the circumstances we may take longer to answer the phone and the front desk.
