Good morning all,

It’s an early start for me today I’ll be office bound for most of the week. Every now and then, it’s something I quite enjoy!

So fun fact Monday did you know

Butterflies can taste with their feet!

When a butterfly lands on a plant, it uses tiny sensory organs on its feet to detect chemicals. This helps it figure out whether the plant is suitable for laying eggs. If it’s the right kind of plant, the butterfly will lay eggs there so the caterpillars have the proper food once they hatch.

It is with the heaviest heart that we announce the passing of Patricia Nelson, known to many as Pat.

Our thoughts are with Ron and the family at this very sad time.

Pat’s funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed, and we will share the details on our page as soon as they are available.

I had the privilege of working with Pat back in the late 90’s I was based in Ashby and Pat was at Measham (WB Bradfords). She was always so kind and supportive. Pat would happily cover the office for me and Julie whenever we needed time off. She was always there with a friendly face and a helping hand.
Pat also worked 10 years with Jenny.

During her time as a funeral arranger, Pat cared for and supported so many families with compassion and dedication. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

May you Rest in Peace Pat.

Random Acts of Kindness Day 2026

As a funeral director, I spend my days walking alongside families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I see grief in its rawest form shock, heartbreak, exhaustion, love. And in the middle of all that sorrow, I also witness something powerful, kindness.

Random Acts of Kindness Day isn’t just about grand gestures. In my world, it’s often the smallest acts that mean the most.

Random acts of kindness don’t have to be complicated.
Kindness doesn’t take away grief but it makes it lighter to carry.
Today, and every day, choose to be gentle with one another. You never know who is walking through a silent heartbreak.
In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

Good Morning to all, again another weekend had passed so quickly!!! Hope you’ve all had a nice weekend.

So here is my fun fact for a Monday morning…..

The Eiffel Tower can grow about 6 inches (15 cm) taller in the summer.

When the iron heats up, it expands, so on hot days, the tower literally gets taller. By winter, it shrinks back down again.
How crazy is this?
