The annual reminder. ✨

Many people will be switching on their “Out of Office” this week and many of them will run something like this. “I am on annual leave until 2nd January and will reply to Emails on my return….. “

When did we change from “I am on Holiday next week” to using the term “Annual Leave”. I truly believe it is time to start using the term” holiday” again. It reads different, it feels different, it is different.

Holiday
“an extended period of leisure and recreation, especially one spent away from home or travelling.”

Annual Leave:
 “an allotted number of days that one may use to be absent from work over the course of a year without losing pay.

Which feels better for you? Which is likely to benefit your well being more.

Even if you are not heading off on any exotic travels you are still on holiday, and hopefully taking an opportunity to rest, recharge and reconnect with yourself, with family, with friends. Doing things that bring joy, pleasure, fun and nourish your body, mind and soul.

I once had an incredible manager who’s “Out Of Office” read something similar to this “ If you are reading this I am currently on holiday. Hopefully surfing/skiing and spending time with my family. I will return on ###xx rested, recharged and ready for our next projects together. If you have an urgent query please contact ###xx who will be able to help and get you the answers you need.

“Words are magic, that’s why we call it spelling” The words we use really do matter and in the words of Wayne Dwyer, “when we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change”

Perhaps it is time to change the wording of your “Out Of Office” and to encourage your team members to do the same.

My Story

Through Try The Alternative, my aim is to Educate, Empower & Support people to be the healthiest they can be.

My earliest memory of using a Holistic approach to my health & well being was when I was 10 years old and Aromatherapy Oils were a regular go to at home. My journey has continued and today I am very thankful to have the knowledge and wisdom that I have and to be able to share that with others.
