Lymphatic drainage was developed in the 1930s by Danish physician Dr Emil Vodder. Using the Vodder Method of Lymphatic Drainage Massage, this treatment can effectively support the lymphatic system, helping to reduce metabolic waste, enhance immune function, and promote the return of cleansed lymph to the bloodstream.

✨Lymphatic Drainage Massage ✨

There’s something powerful about choosing to level up your skills—not just for career growth, but to deepen the impact you have on others. In January, I took that next step by beginning a training course in Lymphatic Drainage Massage.

Lymphatic drainage massage (also known as Manual Lymphatic Drainage or MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to:

• Stimulate the lymphatic system
• Reduce swelling and fluid retention
• Support detoxification
• Boost immune function
• Promote deep relaxation

Unlike traditional massage, it’s not about deep pressure. It’s about precision, light touch, and understanding the body’s lymph flow pathways.

Gaining this knowledge means I can offer something that’s both therapeutic and transformative. This training has reminded me that growth happens when you stay curious and committed to learning.

As a therapist I am always checking in with my clients self care routine. I thought today I would share mine. Thanks to a special person gifting me a reflexology voucher for Christmas, my self care today was to use it. Reflexology if you’ve never experienced it, it’s like reading your tea leaves via your feet. Today clarified what I feel in my body, without initial disclosure to my good friend Alaina at The holistic Hub Cornwall. After the treatment Alaina’s findings and diagnosis was true to how my body feels. What a connection and true form of validation. I can say I will definitely be keeping up reflexology and I can’t recommend Alaina at The Holistic Hub Cornwall highly enough.
