Our clinical pharmacology unit was established in 1976 and is part of Simbec-Orion. With over 45 years of operation, we are one of Europe’s leading clinical research organisations providing clinical research services to both the European and international pharmaceutical industry. We are part of the MHRA Phase I Accreditation Scheme and have carried out over 1800 clinical trials. Our purpose-built UK 58-bed clinical unit is staffed and led by a team of experienced physicians/doctors, research nurses, physiologists, technicians who provide cover 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our full range of equipment and on-site facilities are designed to give volunteers and patients an informed and comfortable experience from screening through to trial completion.

We will soon be conducting a trial for healthy females aged 18-55, who use one of the following methods of contraception:

🚺Non-hormonal intrauterine device (IUD)
🚺Bilateral tubal ligation (performed at least 3 months prior to screening)
🚺Vasectomised partner (sterilization performed at least 90 days prior to Screening with the appropriate post-vasectomy documentation)

Trial 36676 is investigating study drug P2-101, used in the treatment of allergic reactions. This trial compares the active ingredient adrenaline in the form of a tablet dissolved under the tongue in comparison with the very common injectable form, such as EpiPen®. The trial involves two treatment periods, each containing one overnight stay. If you participate in this trial you will receive an inconvenience payment following study completion of £2050, in addition to a £100 screening fee and £75 travel expenses for each journey required.
