At Church Walk Surgery we want to help raise awareness to be kind to all our staff, this iGPM campaign focuses on Reception Staff.

Receptionists are not ‘just admin’ — they are patient advocates, navigating complex systems to get people the care they need. They are the gateway to the clinical team, and without them, there is no access.

But constant abuse is pushing them to breaking point. Burnout is rising, and we are losing skilled staff who can no longer absorb the emotional toll. This campaign is a call for compassion — because protecting our reception teams protects access to care. You don't know what happened on the call they just took..

Please remember you can submit an online request instead of waiting for your call to be answered.

What is a Wellbeing Walk?
Wellbeing Walks are short walks, run by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. All walks are free of charge and are open to everyone – you don’t need to preregister, just come along and join us. The routes start and finish at the same location as advertised, and last between 30 and 90 minutes. Don’t worry about your fitness level - walks are over easy terrain and at a steady pace to suit everyone (please note we're unable to provide 1 - 2 -1 support).

The walks can really help to boost your fitness and wellbeing. Almost all of us can manage a stroll, but our walks make it easier to start walking and stay active. It’s almost impossible not to feel good when walking outdoors – it’s a natural mood-booster, and you’ll certainly never be short of good company!

☕ Our walks are very sociable and most are followed by a chat and a cup of tea in a nearby café.

If you'd like any further information on our walks please get in touch with wellbeingwalks@lincolnshire.coop, or telephone 01522 544 632. https://www.lincolnshire.coop/wellbeing-walks

🏗️ **Building Works Update** 🏗️
We’d like to thank all of our patients for your continued cooperation, patience, and understanding while our building alterations are underway.

Please note the following arrangements during this time:
• The repeat prescription box and samples drop-off box are now located in the entrance foyer.
• The self check-in screen is still in its original location, but this is due to be relocated within the next week or two.
• You may also notice a slight alteration to the reception and dispensary windows.
• The patient toilet is still in use.

We apologise for any inconvenience and truly appreciate your support as we work to improve our facilities for you. Thank you for bearing with us — exciting improvements are on the way! 💙

Your pharmacist can provide treatment or some prescription medicine, if needed, for seven common conditions - without you seeing a GP.

Think pharmacy first and get seen by your local community pharmacy team.

Children under 6 are now being offered the MMRV vaccine instead of MMR as part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme.
This replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.
You don’t need to do anything — your GP will contact you when your child is due.

Surgery Modernisation Update
The waiting room has now reopened, and work has begun on the disabled toilet.

The box for repeat medication requests has been moved to the left of the middle door.

Thank you all once again for your patience during the works.

Please note: we would kindly request that you call or complete an online request for an appointment as the building work can be noisy. It is quick, easy, confidential and it is the same form the staff would complete on your behalf.

We understand that this is a very busy time of year for everyone. However, if you have an appointment with us, please make every effort to attend or give us plenty of notice if you need to cancel, so we can offer the appointment to someone else.

Our team is under significant pressure this week due to the high volume of appointment requests. To make you aware, so far this week we have had 3 hours and 10 minutes of appointments that were not attended meaning 18 patients could have been seen instead.
