Over the past few months, our Appropriate Adult service has continued to play an important role in supporting vulnerable adults during police procedures.

In just 3 months, the team has supported:
🔹 1,039 vulnerable adults
🔹 That’s around 346 people each month
🔹 Or 14 individuals every single day

Their role is to help individuals understand what’s happening and support clear communication throughout the process.

📊 From April 2025 – March 2026, the service has supported an incredible 4,089 vulnerable adults.

This vital work simply wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated volunteers, who give their time to act as Appropriate Adults - making sure people feel supported and able to engage in what can often be complex situations.

🎶💙 What an incredible night!

The ‘Celebrating Ali’ fundraising group hosted a fantastic Music for Mind event at the The ACE Club in Guisborough, with brilliant performances from The AliCats and The Conscripts, all in memory of their friend Alastair, while raising vital funds for better mental health in Teesside.

Their ongoing support means so much, including their generous contribution to our young person’s match funding campaign.

A huge thank you to Tony, Darren, Jono and Tonya - and to everyone who supported the event and made it such a special evening.

If you’re able to, you can still support their amazing efforts by donating here

We had a fantastic day attending Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's Staff Wellbeing Day, talking all things health and wellbeing with their team.

Through their Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), staff can access our MindCare service, which provides a range of mental health support including counselling.

We were also excited to launch our new Virtual Reality Mindfulness-Based Intervention (VR-MBR) in partnership with Tend VR. This innovative approach offers safe, effective mental health support in an immersive way, helping more people access support beyond traditional therapies.

It was great to see so many staff try the VR experience, with feedback including:
“I found it really relaxing, I felt completely calm – it’s really clever.”
“I can really see the value – it takes you to a completely different place.”
“It’s great for anybody with anxiety because it helps you escape and unwind.”

Overall, it was an amazing day and we loved speaking to so many staff about their wellbeing.

A huge thank you to Dakota's Choice Animal Behaviour, Training & Canisports for being an event partner for Bark in the Park 2026! 🐾💛🐶

As we get closer to the big day, we’re highlighting the amazing organisations helping to make it all possible ✨

We’re delighted to showcase Dakotas Choice Animal Behaviour & Training, who are passionate about helping dogs and their owners build strong, positive relationships through kind, reward-based training. Their approach focuses on understanding each dog’s individual needs, creating a supportive environment where both dogs and owners can grow in confidence together 💞🐕

From training support and behaviour work to fun, enriching activities like group sessions and scent detection, Dakotas Choice offers unique and engaging ways for dogs and their humans to learn, bond, and enjoy experiences together 🌿🐶✨

They’ll also be offering have-a-go sessions for agility and enviro-fun at Bark in the Park, plus—new for this year—introduction to Canicross sessions 🏃‍♀️🐕

Their commitment to promoting wellbeing, trust, and positive connections makes them a fantastic fit for Bark in the Park and everything we stand for 💚🐾
