🩵 World Diabetes Day – 14 November 2025 🩵
This year’s theme, “Diabetes and well-being”, shines a spotlight on "Diabetes and the workplace," recognising that with the right access to care and well-being support, everyone living with diabetes can flourish.
Why this day matters:
Marking the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, co-discoverer of insulin in 1922, it draws attention to the ongoing fight against diabetes.
It stands as the largest global diabetes awareness campaign, reaching over 1 billion people across more than 160 countries.
Statistics reveal that 7 in 10 people with diabetes are of working age, and many face challenges related to stigma, anxiety, or exclusion at work.
How DUET diabetes is making a difference
At DUET diabetes, we’re dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults with diabetes—especially by empowering those who care for and treat them through education and training.
On World Diabetes Day, we recommit to:
Renewing knowledge and skills that support well-being at work,
Equipping healthcare professionals to foster more supportive, inclusive environments,
Reinforcing that well-informed care means better outcomes for everyone.
Let’s turn awareness into action and build workplaces where all individuals with diabetes can truly thrive. https://worlddiabetesday.org/
