Today was a fantastic day on the Melissa Bus at Whale Hill Community Centre, where we provided health checks, including height, weight, and blood pressure screenings. It was a pleasure to be joined by the Mayor of Redcar, Neil Bendelow, as well as Richard Gerrard and Tracee Hall-Young , public health south tees healthy communities coordinators, Together, we worked to promote health and well-being in the community, making a positive impact for all involved.

🚐 What a fantastic few days we've had with the Melissa Bus!

This week, we made stops at the Civic Centre in Redcar and Dormanstown, providing essential health checks to nearly 100 patients across both locations. We’re proud to be making a real difference—during these visits, we identified 4 individuals who required urgent referrals to their GP due to dangerously high blood pressure.

These moments highlight just how crucial regular health screenings are in catching potential issues before they become more serious. If you haven’t had your blood pressure checked in a while, it’s a great time to prioritize your health!

Guess who trotted into our health checks today? Kingpin the horse! 🐴👑 He galloped right past the waiting patients, neighing at Irene and Mary, and insisted on getting his vitals checked. Turns out, Kingpin's heart is as healthy as a horse🩺😂
