Sometimes regulating your nervous system doesn’t need to be anything big or dramatic. Small practices — done often — can make such a difference.

While Maya was “painting” (which basically meant covering her hands in paint and creating glorious chaos 😅), I took less than a minute to do this. That’s it.

If you start to feel more confident with the practice, I’d recommend trying 5 minutes to really deepen into it. You can do this breath on the sofa, lying in bed, or just catching a quiet moment wherever you are.

The Bao Mai channel (often called the conception vessel) is such a powerful pathway — connecting heart and womb. I learned this technique 9 years ago while training in pregnancy yoga, and I’ve practised it ever since.

It’s beautiful support for fertility, pregnancy, menstruation and menopause — but it’s also so much more than that. It’s a gentle nervous system reset. It helps soften overthinking. It reconnects us to our heart and to our creativity.

I love it. I hope you do too 🤍

If you’d like to learn more practices like this, I share them in my retreats and circles.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been sharing, quietly and honestly, about our life as a family navigating ADHD.

It’s exhausting for her — living in a body and mind that struggles to regulate emotions, energy and sensory input. But it also ripples outwards. It affects her siblings, and us as parents too. Some days my own nervous system feels frayed, braced, waiting for the next explosion… like we’re all walking on eggshells.

And still — she is deeply loved. She is extraordinary. I wouldn’t change her for the world.
But I’ve had to learn the hard way how to support her, and ourselves, in ways that actually help — not just survive.

But I’m in no way perfect, everyday is different and some days I feel that mam guilt of not being the best version of myself for her.

In January, so many of my clients shared similar stories. New diagnoses. Long-held suspicions. Burnout. Isolation. The feeling of being the only one holding it all together.

And from that place, this was born.

I’m hosting a one-off Circle Support Mini Retreat for those living with, parenting, or navigating neurodiversity. A gentle, nourishing space where you don’t have to explain yourself.

I’ll be sharing simple, effective nervous system calming practices you can take into everyday life. I’m also so honoured to be joined by Jenna — an inspiring woman, mum, and trained support worker with Daisy Chain — who brings both professional experience and lived wisdom from raising her autistic children.

We’ll gather in the cosy, grounding space of Barn Owl Yurt — a place that feels like a deep exhale the moment you step inside.

You don’t need a diagnosis. You don’t need the “right” words.
If this resonates, you are welcome.

Full details will be shared soon — the retreat will take place on a Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend we had such a gorgeous night away. It took us by surprise how much we needed it — it felt like our nervous systems just had a big exhale.

We didn’t realise how stressed, tired and disconnected we’d become. But a little time in the quiet, in the dark, away from the busy house and the constant doing… and something softened. We slept deeper. We breathed slower. We felt like ourselves again.

This is the feeling I try to recreate at The Hive.
Not an escape from real life, but a pause within it.
A space that feels safe, slow and held — where your nervous system can settle, your body can rest, and you don’t have to hold it all together.

Because when we find moments of peace like this, even small ones, we don’t just rest… we remember how to come back to ourselves 🤍

We’re still in the thick of winter - things may seem chaotic around us - but remember to soften, to be gentle with yourself.

Imbolc arrives with the Snow Full Moon 🌕
A quiet turning point — seeds stirring beneath the frost, light slowly returning. So I wish you calm in this soft turning.

Calm isn’t something we think our way into.

It’s something the nervous system experiences.

This month I’m practising choosing calm in the chaos — through breath, boundaries, and coming back to my body. (We have a lot of chaos in our house and we are feeling it!!)

But the snowdrops are appearing, there are little signs of spring with the crocuses peeping out of the ground, the buds on the trees…so be gentle and choose calm.

It’s one of the best bits of my work- helping babies, children and ( ultimately their m**s and dads too ) with a wide range of issues.

I have been so privileged this past year to assist;

🐝a family processing trauma and recovering from a serious accident. We had regular sessions with the child who was healing from surgery and I also helped to support their sibling who was processing the shock
🐝sessions to help Mum calm her nervous system and ease the lasting emotional distress. All of this was covered on their Health insurance due to my membership of AoR.

🐝a baby with teething issues - we had 3 sessions, I treated baby and also taught mam techniques so she can continue treatment at home

🐝 a teenager with Autism suffering with anxiety - long going support to give her nervous system a chance to deeply reset

🐝 a 4 year old with sleep issues- we had 5 sessions which mam noticed a big difference as the treatments went on, she went away with Hand reflexology techniques she was confident in to help continue the treatments when needed at home!

From tiny babies to teenagers we can focus on many issues -
Teething / colic / reflux / sleep issues / anxiety / bed wetting / tantrums -emotional balancing/ digestive issues/ Hormone balancing - many more

My plan after this training a couple of years ago was to start baby reflexology classes - along with a lot of my ideas I realised I just don’t have the time to juggle another class while my kids are little but I do still plan to offer this in the future.

I am available for 1:1 sessions to support babies, children (and parents) with reflexology - dm for booking!

Sharing this feels vulnerable, but I know how isolating fertility journeys can be.
If you’re here, waiting, trying, or quietly grieving — I see you.

I know we have been incredibly lucky, and I know there can also be lots of sensitive and heart breaking moments when you have a desire to be a parent.

But I hope my story inspires, and is proof that even if we’re told by “professionals” a result is “bad”‘or we have “no hope” there is always space for a miracle.

I also hope that my story shares my passion and enthusiasm to continue to learn and support women in this journey!

If you’re looking for caring, experienced support with fertility have a look at my “Seed to Bloom” packages or with pregnancy/ helping support tired women my 1:1 therapies can help. All info on my website!

Love always, Steph ❤️🐝🌸🌈

These are some words that women used to sum up their experience in “Barn Owl” the Yurt.

We are full into the wintering vibes at the moment, myself and Barn Owl are resting, pausing and waiting for the moment to unfurl back into hosting gatherings., Women’s circles and retreats.

If you are interested in future events in 2026 comment “CIRCLE” and I will add you onto my mailing list where you will receive some nice emails, poems, musings and to be the first to hear of my future events!

It’s a lovely little community of those curious, searching for deeper meaning, rest, self care and following the our deep remembering and I’d love to welcome you!

But for now back to the rest, the dreams and the slowness of winter🙏❤️🐝❄️

This winter I have been offering each client a simple hot cup of ginger tea before we start and the effects have been really interesting!

Every client has loved it “I feel like I’m in a bubble” , “the best tea I’ve had” , “it’s so nice”, “just what I needed”.

We share a tea together and it seems to symbolise much more, they open up and explain How they are, how I can adapt the treatment to their needs. We take a bit more time and it feels so grounding for both of us.

I didn’t expect that, I just thought “it’s a bit cold, a cuppa would be nice”.
So… i did a bit of research and I can see why a simple cup of tea can mean and feel so much.

• Hot drinks can promote physiological relaxation: changes in skin temperature and nervous system responses are measurable after consumption. (Pub Med)
• Neural activity patterns change with drink temperature: hot beverage intake is linked to brainwave activity associated with calmness.
• Heat may influence mood and parasympathetic activation: warmth signals the body to shift out of a stress response.
• Population studies link hot drink habits with better mood outcomes: though these are observational rather than causal. (Cambridge university press)

Across cultures, a cup of tea isn’t just a beverage — it’s a shared experience and a living social tradition that goes back centuries.

So if you’d like to come for a nervous system reset treatment (and share a cuppa with me) I’d love to welcome you!

If… you’re good at giving to others but you’re starting to realise you need to give to your self.

If you are tired of “just coping”.

If you’re trying for a baby and are tired of the isolation and crave some support.

If you’re pregnant and feel a calling for some self care, connection with others or to feel good in your pregnancy away from the over medicalisation.

Or If you’re just tired …. Either as a mam , caregiver or just feeling caught up in life.

I know what all these stages feel like - I know ways to support and ways to empower you into your own power and your best self. Not the tired self.

Whether it’s through 1:1 therapies -
❄️clinical reflexology
❄️massage
❄️reiki

Or through classes
🌸 pregnancy yoga
🌸 Womens circles and Rest retreats

I would love to work with you this winter, DM me “WINTER” if you’d like to know more

🐝 love always, Steph
