The Gables had an exciting visit from Charlotte @ ZooLab today!
Residents got up close with spiders, snakes and a very cute gerbil. There were plenty of smiles, brave hands, and lots of curiosity. Everyone absolutely loved the experience! 🐍🕷️🐹✨

🌍 World Kindness Day 🌸
Today we had a heartwarming visit from the nursery children Zizus Day Care at The Hub - Grove Hill who brought along their lovely handmade gifts for our residents. 💕
The smiles and laughter filled the room — our residents’ faces truly lit up with joy! 😊
A huge thank you to the little ones and their teachers for spreading so much kindness and happiness at The Gables. 💖

🌺 Remembrance Day at The Gables 🌺

Today, residents and staff at The Gables Care Home came together to honour Remembrance Day. We paused for a two-minute silence at 11am, reflecting on the bravery and sacrifice of all who served.

Our home was filled with poppies, memories, and heartfelt stories, as we remembered those who gave so much for our freedom.

🍪 Biscuit Decorating at The Gables! 🍪

Our residents at The Gables had a wonderful time baking and decorating biscuits with colourful icing and sprinkles. This fun activity isn’t just about making tasty treats — it also brings lots of benefits, including:

🤝 Social interaction – Promotes chatting and laughter while decorating together
🧠 Cognitive stimulation – Supports focus, coordination, and following steps

🎈 Balloon Tennis Fun at The Gables! 🎈
Residents had a brilliant time taking part in a lively game of balloon tennis! 🏸
It’s not only great fun but also helps improve hand–eye coordination, keeps everyone active, and encourages lots of laughter and social interaction. 💪💖

At The Gables, we’ve been having a great time recently with some classic games! Residents have enjoyed Play Ya Cards Right and a few friendly matches of Domino’s. Lots of laughs, competition, and smiles all around 🎲♥️♠️
