💪 Muscle of the month: Abs

Your abdominals do far more than help you build a six-pack. Strong abs support core stability, improve posture, enhance performance and reduce injury risk during everyday movements and training.

Want to build real core strength? Add exercises like planks, crunches, Russian twists and leg raises into your routine, and stay consistent with your training.

Congratulations to Andrew Barker, the winner of our member referral competition. 👏

In January and February, we ran a competition across 3d leisure sites for any members referring a friend to join, with the chance to win £1000 of holiday vouchers.

All members who referred friends were entered into the draw, and the lucky winner was Andrew Barker from Palms Health Club in Bridlington.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped grow our fitness community.

How often should you work out?

If you’re just starting out, aim for 2–3 sessions per week and build from there. Consistency will always beat intensity.

Short, regular workouts help improve strength, fitness and confidence without feeling overwhelming. The key is finding a routine you can stick to.

Not sure how to structure your week? Speak to our team and we’ll help you create a plan that works for you.

Feeling nervous about coming to the gym? You’re not alone.

Starting somewhere new can feel overwhelming, but remember: everyone was a beginner once. Most people are focused on their own workout, not watching yours.

Take it at your own pace. Ask questions. Build confidence step by step. You belong here.

Low Intensity Steady State, or LISS, is your reminder that not every workout has to be all-out to be effective.

Steady cardio like walking, cycling or using the cross trainer helps build endurance, support heart health and aid recovery, all while keeping impact low. Perfect for beginners, active recovery days or anyone easing back into training. Consistency beats intensity when it comes to long-term fitness.

Bananas are the unsung heroes of muscle recovery. Packed with potassium, they help replenish the electrolytes lost during a hard workout, reducing muscle cramps and aiding in faster recovery. This makes them the perfect post-workout snack.

Not only do bananas help with muscle recovery, but they also provide a quick and easy source of energy, making them a great addition to your post-workout meal. They’re simple, effective, and easy to incorporate into any routine.

Incorporate bananas into your diet to maximize your recovery and keep your energy levels high. It’s the small things that make a big difference in your fitness journey. 🍌💪

Muscle of the Month: Glutes 🍑

Strong glutes do more than shape your physique. They support posture, power everyday movement and improve balance and performance in the gym and beyond.

This month, focus on quality form and exercises that target the full glute group, like squats, lunges, hip thrusts and bridges.

If you’d like help with your training or a plan tailored to you, speak to one of our on hand PTs in club. They’re there to help you get the most from every session. 💪

Your first gym visit doesn’t have to be complicated. If you’re new to the gym and wondering what to do on your first workout, start simple. Try light cardio, a few resistance machines, and ask a personal trainer for a quick gym induction so you learn how to use equipment safely. Your first gym session is about building confidence and getting comfortable, not doing everything at once. Small steps lead to long-term fitness results.
