Treatment for acne?
Unfortunately there is no ‘quick fix’ for acne, you have to be consistent with a skin care regime and treatment. You will notice improvement within the first 6 weeks but for improvements to stay you must continue with treatment
Finding a good skincare range that suites your needs is critical cleansing and moisturising morning and night. This helps to clean away daily dirt, excess sebum and bacterial. Doing this allows the body to heal sore broken skin and prevent the build up of new acne developing.
Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells and dirt from the skin's surface. Exfoliating regularly can prevent clogging of the pores, improve skin texture, boost the benefits of your skincare products. Be careful not to over do this process
A chemical peel acts as an exfoliator. It resurfaces the skin by removing the top layer to regenerate normal skin. Having chemical peels can help, however these need to be carried out on a regular basis to see the improvement of not only acne but acne scaring and discolouration.
Microneedling can help acne scaring. The process promotes the growth of new collagen in your skin, encouraging your skin to heal itself, reducing the appearance of ice pick, boxcar, and rolling acne scars. Although it is effective at helping to improve the appearance of acne scaring is takes approximately 3-4 sessions before a noticeable improvement can be seen. Microneedling can not help with active acne and a strict skincare regime works to enhance the outcome of this treatment.
