A simple and quick technique for anxiety or stress. By using your senses you can focus your attention on your surroundings and bring yourself back into the moment. This can help stop those racing thoughts and lower the anxiety. I have used this one myself and it does help.
A tip - if you get stressed out trying to remember which number goes with which sense, just pick a number and do the same for all of them.

😥 Stressed❓
Stress, when at the right level, encourages us to take positive action; however when life has been more stressful than normal, it can move beyond beneficial levels.
😰 Anxiety❓
Stress has continued and is there most of the time as an uneasy feeling, and is now less helpful.
⚡Panic❓
Anxiety reaches a whole new level and overflows - like an overfull bucket of water. The stressors around you have become overwhelming and produce a surge of panic. A panic attack is when your body experiences a rush of intense mental and physical symptoms. It can come on very quickly, at random. It will feel very unpleasant, but won't last long and isn't dangerous.
If you are feeling any of the above, it can be a normal response - it's what you do to stop it getting out of hand that counts.
Tip of the day to help keep you calm👇
📺 Take a media break 📰
Don’t immerse yourself in news 24/7. It's easy to lose track of how much we are listening to and absorbing, but less easy to figure out what is accurate and useful. Stay up to date with trusted sources if you want to, but avoid scouring the internet and social media. Also, don't take what you read at face value.
✨️Don't fight it. Seems the opposite of what we want if I tell you to let it happen and don't try to calm down - but honestly, fighting it probably isn't going to work at that moment.
✨️Your brain wants to alert you to danger- so let it run it's course.
✨️Remind yourself you are safe. It's just your brain trying to alert you to something -but in the wrong situation where you don't actually need to run or fight. Let it happen.
✨️Slow steady even breaths - but don't stress too much about having the right breathing techniques.
✨️Ground your senses- visually, auditory and touch. Focus on what you can see, hear and feel, even smell.
✨️Movement - get moving if appropriate to do so, to help dishcharge some of that adrenaline.

MAINTAINING MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING - INFORMATION OVERLOAD
It's been quite a difficult few years and the effects on mental well-being shouldn't be underestimated.
Masses of information being shared about the issues going on in the world, many differing opinions. No wonder we feel overwhelmed.
Today's tip for maintaining mental health 👇
📰 News & Social Media! 📰
We all have a certain need to seek out information regarding the circumstances surrounding us, and that is because we are humans searching for the bad/dangerous side - perfectly reasonable! But when is too much?
👨💻 Everywhere we look at the moment there is alarming news stories.
👨💻 It's really hard to separate fact from fiction, especially when we find articles and stories on social media. It's easy to see why anxiety gets out of hand.
📰 It may help to limit your exposure to news on TV to once per day - find out what is happening to keep yourself updated, but step away from watching it all day/evening (it's amazing how many hours you can spend glued to the news - this is putting continuous fear based programming into your mind).
👨💻 When looking at social media and internet in general, it's worth questioning the source of the information you receive, also ask yourself, do I need to be reading this right now?
🤔It can be difficult to step away from the stress, but just a few short breaks per day can make all the difference.

Do you know the 4 main fears people have when thinking of flying? ✈️
The fear of flying is more common than you think!
Claustrophobia – feeling trapped in a confined space
Lack of control – being at the mercy of others and feeling panic that you have to just sit there and trust the pilot
Turbulence – anxiety during bumps or shaking
Take off or landing - that feeling when the plane is climbing and then seems to dip a little as it reaches its height, or the feeling of changing speed as the plane lowers.
Do any of these sound familiar? If so, don't suffer it – there are effective techniques to help you regain your confidence in the skies. 🌤
