The rarely visited valley of a Summer Lodge with its waterfalls, wooded sections, moorland, Summer Lodge Tarn and its views both eastwards and westwards along the Swale Valley - stunning even on a November morning. All that, being a non-caver, without a trip down Crackpot Cave to see its magnificent limestone 'sculptures' (https://cncc.org.uk/article/20211118-crackpot-cave-description)

A reminder that while North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service service have de-escalated the major incident status on Fylingdales Moor, it remains an active incident. The hazardous landscape and the ongoing risk of unexploded ordnance mean that Public Rights of Way in this area are closed and Open Access is suspended. People must continue to respect the closures that are in place and not walk or cycle in areas damaged by fire.

The highways network has returned to normal; with speed restrictions removed, road closures lifted and lay-bys open. However, motorists are asked to drive with particular care along the B1416 Ruswarp Road, where there is an increase in walkers due to the partial closure of the Coast to Coast route.
