🥞✨ Pancake Day Fun at Our Home! ✨🥞

What a fantastic Pancake Day we’ve had! Our wonderful residents got stuck in, showing off their pancake-flipping skills – with plenty of laughter along the way! Some flips were perfect… and some gave us an extra giggle 🤭

After all that hard work, it was time for the best part – enjoying the pancakes! Toppings of choice included the classic lemon & sugar 🍋, sweet syrup, and of course chocolate for those with a sweet tooth.

It’s been a lovely day filled with smiles, teamwork, and tasty treats. Moments like these make our home feel extra special 💛

💕🌹Valentine’s Day Celebrations 💕🌹

Our residents have been wonderfully busy in the run up to Valentine’s Day, getting creative and spreading the love throughout the home.
From making beautiful handmade table decorations to transforming our spaces with lovely shades of red and pink, there has been such a warm and cheerful atmosphere all week long. ❤️🌸

Yesterday was a truly special day as we enjoyed our traditional Fish Friday lunch together — always a favourite! 🎣 Following lunch, we were treated to a fantastic performance from Bob Christie, who had everyone smiling as he sang a selection of much-loved love songs. 🎶💘

The afternoon was rounded off perfectly with a delicious Valentine’s afternoon tea, filled with sweet treats and plenty of laughter. ☕🍰
Our residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially singing and dancing along to their favourite songs. It was heartwarming to see so many happy faces and to share such a joyful day together.

Love, laughter, music and friendship — the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! 💖

Employee of the Month ✨

Sue is our Employee of the Month for January. She has been a part of St George’s care home for nearly 13 years as a Healthcare Assistant.

Sue has a wonderful way of keeping every shift calm, steady, and well-balanced, even on the busiest days. Her confidence, consistency, and caring nature makes a difference to both residents and colleagues alike.

Pizza dreams were made today 🍕😍

Our residents had a blast celebrating National Pizza Day by making their own pizzas from scratch! From classic pepperoni and gooey mozzarella to colorful veggies and creative topping combos, everyone got to customize their perfect slice.

And let’s talk about that smell… 🤤 the aroma of bubbling cheese, and savory toppings filled the air and had the whole home feeling extra cozy and delicious.

Smiles, laughter, and full bellies all around—nothing brings people together quite like pizza! 🍕❤️

❤️🌹Valentines 🌹❤️

Love is definitely in the air as our residents get ready for Valentine’s Day! ❤️🌹

There’s been lots of laughter, creativity and togetherness as everyone has been busy decorating the seasonal tree, colouring in beautiful pictures, and making Valentine stones to share a little love.

From arts and crafts to chatting and giggles along the way, it’s been so lovely to see everyone joining in and enjoying the activities.

We can’t wait to celebrate Valentine’s Day surrounded by so much joy, friendship and heart 💕✨

Happy National Hot Chocolate Day! 🍫☕️

Today our residents and their families indulged in a delicious hot chocolate treat, made extra special with a choice of whipped cream, fluffy marshmallows, and a flake topping.

Smiles, cosy vibes, and sweet moments were shared all around as everyone enjoyed their perfect cup.

A simple treat that brought lots of joy and togetherness 💚

🎲🧠 Fun, Games & Plenty of Smiles! 🧠🎲

Our residents had a fantastic time enjoying a lively game of Snakes and Ladders followed by a fun and engaging quiz! There was lots of laughter, friendly competition, and great conversation throughout the session.

Games like these are not only enjoyable, but they also bring so many benefits — helping to keep minds active, encouraging social interaction, boosting memory and concentration, and supporting overall wellbeing. Most importantly, they give everyone the chance to relax, connect, and simply have fun together.

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and to share such a positive, joyful time. We’re already looking forward to the next games session! 💙✨

⛑️🩹 First Aid 🩹⛑️

We’re proud to share that some of our amazing staff have completed a 3-day First Aid course! 🩹🚑

Over the three days, they covered all aspects of first aid, including CPR, emergency response, injury management, and how to stay calm and confident in real-life situations.
It was hands-on, practical, and packed with valuable skills that make a real difference.

Congratulations to everyone who took part — your commitment to safety and learning helps keep our team and community safe. 💪

A big thank you to Mark 999 First Aid Training for sharing his excellent knowledge and experience throughout the course — having a former paramedic guiding the learning made it even more valuable.

Last week we celebrated Burns Night in the best way 🥃

Haggis, neaps and tatties for lunch, all washed down with a wee whisky. Good food, good company, and a proper nod to Robert Burns. Slàinte! 🥔🔥

Wednesdays are a favourite at St George’s. Our hairdresser, Lisa visits each week, and our residents absolutely love being pampered and treated to a fresh new look 💇‍♀️✨
