There will be no circuits class on Sunday this week. Instead I would like to invite you to join me at the Levengrove Junior Parkrun (Dumbarton). I’m taking my two. I find my kids are always more receptive when they have pals 😅.

And we also get to support a friend ❤️xx

A Special Sunday at Levengrove Junior parkrun this week.
This Sunday we're marking two meaningful milestones that are deeply connected to our parkrun's story.

We were inspired by a young runner called Felicity to set up Levengrove junior parkrun. We reached out to the Chris Smith Memorial Fund, who helped fund our start-up and made our dream a reality.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of Chris Smith's passing, and the CSMF have invited people to take part in a run or walk in his memory. This Sunday we'll be celebrating Felicity completing her 100th junior parkrun - a remarkable achievement from the runner who inspired it all.

We're delighted to welcome Chris's family to the park as we mark this double milestone. It's a poignant reminder of how one family's generosity and one child's love of running created something special for our whole community.

Hi I’m Barbara, a personal trainer and nutrition coach based in Milngavie. I have two young children and spent many years working in an office. My background is in running (lot of marathons 😅) and triathlons.

I have some spaces available for one-to-one coaching. I work from a private gym in Milngavie so sessions are usually pretty quiet. I can also see people at home.

I can help you with:-
💪 general training to help you feel fitter/lose weight
💪 gaming your training to the next level if you feel you have plateaued
💪 training for a specific event (marathon, triathlon, cycle etc)
💪 keeping active during pregnancy or getting back in shape after
💪 getting started with weights
💪 training with specific health conditions (autoimmune diseases, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid issues, arthritis, ADHD, joint replacement and others)
💪 functional strength to protect you as you age and keep you living independently as long as you can

I am so proud of a client this morning- she came in tired from a really busy period at work and has a lot going on in her family life too- she could easily have skipped this morning and had a lie in. But she didn’t.

She came in grumpy and left smiling and in a better place. What more could I want for her?

This is just a wee reminder- get up and move! You will feel better for it. 😃

💪 you are unlikely to regret doing a workout
💪 who cares how fast/slow you go or how heavy/light you lift
💪 who cares if things aren’t perfect
💪 who cares what other people think

The simple act of moving carries so many benefits with it. The trick is to find something you enjoy and stick with it ☺️Having a goal also helps. If you’re not sure, give me a shout and I’ll help you get started.

Lifting weights is great for improving strength, power and general all round health. And you are never too old to start 💪
