For many many months now I’ve been drinking warm water on an empty stomach instead of having coffee. Here’s why:
🧠 First of all, I broke a habit of getting coffee as a comforting routine before anything else. The benefit of this alone is strengthening my willpower and rewiring the brain pattern.
🧠 The main benefits are improved digestion, bowl movements and hydration. Coffee helps with your 💩 , yes, however, if you rely on it ‘to go’, it may be an indication of a poor gut health.
🧠 One of the main reasons for people to try this simple remedy is to relieve constipation.
🧠 Other reasons: detoxification (flushing toxins accumulated over the night), metabolism increase, to reduce congestion (nasal), improved circulation.
🧠 Following Ayurvedic and Yogic recommendations, I started drinking warm water in squat to improve the health of my knee joints. It has worked wonders so far!
🌿 I am currently doing Pancha Karma (3-month Ayurvedic treatment) and as part of it I have been prescribed to take warm water with Ashwagandha and Ghee, both of which have recently attracted a lot of interest from researchers and mainstream retailers in the West.
I am fascinated by Ayurveda and I intent to share it with my students as I believe everyone is better off knowing how they can look after their health in ways that agree with the nature, and our true self. No side effects but, yes, discipline and faith in the process required!
