ADHD Awareness Month is coming… but are we also talking about the parents?

Behind many thriving employees are mums, dads, and carers quietly juggling school meetings, meltdowns, endless waiting lists, and late-night Googling.

Are some of your team silently burning out?
📊 1 in 7 people are neurodivergent.
Many of their parents are also your employees.
And they’re doing a second full-time job… after their first one.

Menopause Matters – But Does Your Workplace Know How to Support It?
We’ve come a long way in breaking taboos — but let’s be honest, menopause is still one of the least talked-about workplace issues, and for too many, it's still wrapped in stigma or brushed off with a nervous laugh and a fan.
But here's the reality:
• 1 in 10 women leave their jobs due to menopause symptoms.
• Many others suffer in silence, with impacts on confidence, performance, and wellbeing.
• And organisations lose not just talented individuals, but the wealth of experience and insight they bring.
So the question is: Are you ready to create a workplace that truly supports people through menopause?
At BMR Health and Wellbeing, we’re proud to partner with Henpicked – the UK’s leading experts on menopause in the workplace – to bring you our next Menopause Champion Training Course.
🗓 Date: 18 June 2025
🕑 Time: 2pm – 4.30pm
💻 Location: Live online session
🎓 For: Managers, HR professionals, wellbeing leads, or anyone passionate about making a difference
This interactive session goes beyond the basics:
• What menopause really looks like (it’s more than hot flushes)
• How to have confident, compassionate conversations
• The legal, practical, and cultural case for support
• Tools and frameworks to become a go-to Menopause Champion in your organisation
You’ll leave informed, equipped, and empowered — ready to spark real change in your workplace.
Let’s not wait until people are struggling or walking away. Let’s lead the way, together.

Let’s talk about the stress no one wants to talk about: money.
As Stress Awareness Month comes to a close, one theme has stood out loud and clear in conversations we’ve had with employees and employers alike:
💸 Financial stress is everywhere.
It’s the rising bills, the uncertain pay packets, the sleepless nights wondering if things will ever get easier.
And it doesn’t stay in your wallet. It shows up in mental health, productivity, focus, even relationships at work and home.
So, what can we actually do?
👉 We’ve partnered with Money First Aid to offer on-demand financial wellbeing training.

Our Story

Our BMR retreats are designed to work for you. I am Sheila and I created these retreats with my best friend and now business partner, Ann Marie after I made a decision to take myself away and put me first for a change.

I was on the hamster wheel of life, trying to manage work, kids, relationships and I was spending all of my time focusing on everything except myself. I was drinking too much and found myself heading for disaster. I went off to a bootcamp and it literally turned my life around. Six months after my first visit I had quit my job and gone back for a second time as I was so stressed. It was after this second time that I realised what I wanted to do with my life and that was to create a space for people like myself to get away and just be me for a few days.

On the way home I called my best friend Ann and asked her to get involved as she had taught me a lot about growth and fixed mindset. She jumped on board and together we set up BMR. A place where you can escape for a few days and get some head-space so YOU can reset the dial and get back to you.

We show you how you can find a way to be happy and healthy in a way that fits in with your lifestyle because not everyone is a gym bunny (and who has the time?). We serve delicious food, we work hard and we play hard. Besides the exercise we also have fantastic workshops on all things well-being from nutrition, body-confidence, alcohol awareness, mental health and mindset.
