Positions To Help You Breathe Easier 🫁💙
When breathlessness strikes, simple body positions can make a big difference. These techniques help your lungs expand more fully and reduce the effort needed to breathe.
✨ Try These Helpful Positions:
1. Pursed-Lip Breathing + Sitting Forward: Sit upright, lean slightly forward with your elbows on your knees, and breathe out slowly through pursed lips. This helps release trapped air and reduce breathlessness.
2. Standing with Support: Stand upright and lean slightly forward, resting your hands on a table, counter, or the back of a chair. This position lets your diaphragm work more efficiently.
3. High-Supported Sitting: Sit in a chair with your back straight and pillows behind you. Relax your shoulders and breathe slowly. Great for resting and recovery.
4. Side-Lying Position: Lie on your side with your head elevated on pillows. Keep your neck aligned and shoulders relaxed. This can make breathing easier during sleep or rest.
5. Standing Against a Wall: Stand with your back touching the wall and your feet slightly forward. Relax your shoulders and let your chest open.
Why These Positions Work
They reduce pressure on the diaphragm, relax the upper body, and allow more space for your lungs to expand — helping air move in and out more effectively.
👉 If you're looking for added support with COPD symptoms, salt therapy may help reduce airway inflammation and improve breathing comfort.
