Aerobic exercise or weights to lose weight?
When we want to lose weight, there is a wide variety of opinions about what kind of exercises we must make to lose weight at the expense of body fat.
It is important to consider that while with the aerobic exercise is spent more calories per unit of time in comparison with the training of weights, aerobic work leads to a loss of muscle mass and thus a decrease in the metabolism, which means that we must eat less Calories in order to keep the body weight, in addition to that you can't shape the body to pleasure, such as improving the perimeter of glutes in women or the men in the chest.
On the other hand work with weights increases both the strength and muscle mass which helps to speed up the metabolism and thus to decrease the body fat. The type of weight training that is recommended is hypertrophy (8 to 12 repetitions at 70-80 % of the load), Which also prevents the loss of muscle mass that generates the work of aerobic type (Cappa 2004).
So in order to achieve an optimal weight loss at the expense of body fat and improve the health of both the physical appearance, they should use both types of work.
